School Performance Framework Rating for Summit Cove Elementary
Each fall, Colorado schools and districts receive performance ratings to inform them and their communities about their effectiveness based on Colorado Measures of Academic Success (CMAS) test results for 3rd-5th grade students. These reports, known as the District Performance Frameworks (DPFs) and School Performance Frameworks (SPFs), play a crucial role in educational assessment and improvement efforts across the state. While the SPF is determined using only CMAS test results, it provides data important to guide schools in continuous improvement. An explanation of the state accountability system can be accessed at the link below.
Colorado Department of Education School Accountability Fact Sheet
We are pleased to announce considerable growth in our rating from the previous year. our 2022-2023 SPF rating placed us in the improvement category. This year we have moved from the improvement rating to performance rating. We recognize we still have more growth to experience and are confident we will continue increasing our School Performance Rating this year and beyond with the continuation and implementation of improvement systems and instructional practices.
We strongly encourage you to attend our School Accountability Committee meeting on Friday, September 13 from 8:45 - 9:45 to learn more details on our SPF rating and plans for continued growth.

Summit Cove PTSA Needs You!
Safety at Student Drop Off and Pick Up
Thank you for helping us keep our kiddos safe at drop off and pick up areas in the front of the school. Here are a few reminders to continue prioritizing safety at our school:
- Always use the crosswalk whether you are with your kids or not. We are modeling safe behavior for our students. Wait for crossing guard to indicate it is safe to cross before crossing.
- Please use the "Kiss and Go" yellow painted curb for dropping and picking up your student. Do not get out of your vehicle at the curb. If you would like to get out of your vehicle, please use a designated parking spot.
- Walk your bike in all areas in front of the school.
We appreciate your support and partnership! We love our kids!
GAGA Pit!
Summit Cove Elementary alumni, Dillon Butson, has chosen SCE for his Eagle Scout project! We are delighted to have Dillon organizing the installation of a Gaga pit for our playground. He needs your help in raising funds for this amazing project. The project will cost $800. Please consider contributing to this wonderful project that supports Summit Cove and will benefit the students for many years to come.
MEG Language Instruction at SCE
¡Hola, families, parents and caregivers! Did you know? Our students will be learning Spanish twice a week from our new community of instructors based in Colombia. Each lesson will be focused on language acquisition and culture while gaining a global perspective with their in-country teacher. We want to share this specially recorded lesson and intro to our new partner Meg Languages.
