Dear CES Families and Friends,
Thank you to all who attended today's Arts Festival. It is always a pleasure to welcome families and friends into the building to celebrate our amazing SHARKS and their many accomplishments. As you can tell, CES not only has the BEST students around, but is also blessed with the BEST and most CREATIVE staff. Ms. Midleton and Mr. Toppa's passion for the arts are unparalleled. Both teachers inspire our SHARKS to be creative and bold. Our SHARKS are encouraged to express themselves in many different ways and we could not be more proud of their hard work and dedication!
Today's festival was a fabulous way to begin the final countdown of this school year. We have one and a half days of school left, but we are not slowing down.
Next Week
Reminder, there is NO SCHOOL on Monday in observance of the Juneteenth Holiday.
On Tuesday, the 4th-Grade celebrations begin. Thanks to our amazing 4th-Grade parents, the students will be treated to a video slideshow of CES memories, a barbeque lunch, and water activities.
On Tuesday afternoon students in Grades K-3 will "Step Up". During Step Up, students visit their classroom teacher for the upcoming school year. This is always great fun!
4th Grade Clap Out
On Wednesday, CES will dismiss at 11:00 am. Parents, families, and friends are invited to CES at 10:45 am for the 2nd Annual 4th-Grade Clap Out. Beginning at 10:45 our 4th-Grade students and any staff members not returning to CES are dismissed to walk the CES hallways one last time. The rest of our school lines the hallways to clap them out. The parade travels through the building, out the recess doors, and along the front of CES. Parents and families may line up along the walkway in the front of the building and join the clap out.
4th-graders can then be dismissed to their family members or will return back to the library where they will wait for regular dismissal. We hope you can join us for this special tradition and wish our Grade 4 students and teachers a warm goodbye.
Final Housekeeping
- Students will receive hard copies of their report cards on Wednesday. Report cards can also be accessed online in the Aspen Parent Portal beginning Wednesday morning.
- Lost and Found items will be donated on Thursday, June 23rd. PLEASE drop by and check out what is on our racks of clothing before it's too late!
- CES Calendar - The PTO and Ms. Middleton's art classes have made a custom 2023-2024 calendar. For the bargain price of $15, you can have a fantastic calendar chock full of student artwork with all early release days, professional development days, and vacations clearly marked. Cash or Venmo accepted.
- MRSD is seeking 3-year-old community peers for the 2023-2024 preschool program. If you are interested in having your 3-year-old attend the preschool program please contact CES Team Chair & PreSchool Coordinator Mrs. Caron at jcaron@monomoy.edu

Mobile Crisis
What is a Mobile Crisis Intervention?
Mobile Crisis Intervention (MCI) is the youth-serving component of Bay Cove's Behavioral Health Urgent Care program. MCI provides short-term service that is a therapeutic response to youth and family/caregivers experiencing a behavioral health crisis. MCI evaluates the situation, identifies the challenges, involved, asseses the needs and begins to treat and stabilize the situation, reducing the immediate risk of danger to the youth or to others. MCI then provides up to 7-days of intervention and services post the initial encounter. Learn more about Bay Cove Mobile Crisis HERE.

The winter-spring Program Schedules are now available from Cape Cod Children's Place. Space is limited, so sign up soon! See offerings HERE . Programming includes playgroups, book groups, cooking classes for children as well as resources and support groups for parents/caregivers.

WIC Program
WIC is a nutrition program that provides nutrition and health care education, healthy food, and other services free of charge to Massachusetts families who qualify. WIC is for all kinds of families: married and single parents, working or not working. If you are a father, mother, grandparent, foster parent, or legal guardian of a child under the age of five, you can apply for WIC for your child.
