Congratulations to our Cross Country Team: our Boys’ Team won 1st place in the TriPeak League, our Girls’ Team all earned personal records, and Elisa K. broke the MSHS Girls’ 5K school record!

Also thank you to all of the students and staff who participated in our PSAT 9 and PSAT NMSQT on Wednesday. This was a fantastic opportunity for students to demonstrate their knowledge on the exam, staff to collect updated student achievement data, and juniors to potentially earn significant scholarships through the National Merit Scholarship.

In two weeks, we are looking forward to Family Conferences on Thursday, 10/26 and Friday, 10/27. We really appreciate this opportunity to celebrate students’ learning as well as partner with families on how to best support students moving forward!

Conferences are a great opportunity for you to connect with your child’s teacher about their learning. Students are encouraged to attend along with parents/guardians to offer a clear circle of feedback. This year, conferences will be held virtually on Thursday, October 26th from

1:15pm-6:30pm and Friday, October 27th from 8:00am-12:00pm. To schedule a conference with a teacher, click on the name below. Calendly will automatically set up a Google Meet for the time you select. When you schedule your conference, please include the name of your child so the teacher can be prepared to answer your specific questions. If there are no available time slots, please email the teacher to set up another time to conference. We look forward to collaborating with our families!

Financial Aid Night

October 26th from 5:00-6:00 is our Financial Aid Night. This is for parents/guardians of seniors and juniors who want to know how to pay for college!! Colorado College Financial Aid Office will be here to give the presentation and answer questions you may have. You do not need to attend Colorado College, the information they share is for all colleges/universities.

"Filling in the Gaps:" College & Career Seminar @ Sierra High School

This is a wonderful opportunity for students and families of middle and high school students. Saturday, Octobers 28, 2023, Educating Children of Color, along with Peak Education, African American Youth Leadership Conference, and the Sach's Foundation: Elevated, will host "Filling in the Gaps:" College & Career Seminar @ Sierra High School. This event will feature presenters from across the Pike's Peak region and will impart high-leverage information to help students and their families navigate to and through the post-secondary education process. School counselors are wrapping up 9th grade advisory lessons to speak with students about MSHS Graduation requirements and our role as school counselors. We have been playing a Kahoot with students and answering any questions they may have. A reminder to all students and families that there are 3 components to earning your diploma from MSHS, these include 1) Passing the 54 required credits with at least a 60% 2) Having a documented ICAP (we use Naviance) and 3) Demonstrating mastery in both English and Math via the CO Menu of Options. Please ask your 9th grader about this advisory lesson. Please contact your students' school counselor if you have any questions about your students' graduation status. Creek Week Cleanup was a success. Thank you for helping to clean up within our community.

Students in the Tech Theater classes are working on scenic painting. Project #1 - Bricks!

The high school students are working on the fall musical. Conceived and written collaboratively, the working title is "Forties Frolic". Mrs. Nicole Berry, choreographer, works with students on the dances. The production will go up Nov 30, Dec 1 & 2.
