Holy Rosary
NEWSLETTER | TERM 1| WEEK 7| 21 MAR 2025
God our Father,
In your infinite love and goodness, you have shown us that prayer, fasting, and almsgiving are remedies for sin. Accept the humble admission of our guilt, and when our conscience weighs us down, let your unfailing mercy raise us up. Through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever.
Amen.
Dear Parents, Friends, Guardians, and Staff,
I've had the joy of visiting many classes to seek student input into our forthcoming positive behaviour support framework and outline how they can seek suitable adult support at any time and even book meetings with leadership staff. As I discussed with our wonderful Year Ones, my job is simple: ensure that they are safe and learning, in a supportive community.
The reality for me is a bit more complex when I consider the 117 laws and regulations that I must follow as Principal. But hey, who's counting? (Oh right, I am!) However, student safety, learning and building our wonderful Holy Rosary community are my primary focus.
As part of this, we are incorporating positive psychology and elements of self-determination theory into all of our processes, plus actively seeking student voice in all aspects of their learning to ultimately empower our children.
I strongly encourage all parents to book meetings with your child's professional educator to see how we can continue to work together.
Safety: Please ensure that your children do not arrive prior to 8:15am, unless they are attending Numero Club, as supervision is only provided from this time. In Pre-primary to Year 6 learning starts at 8:45am. Other than the Kiss and Drive, no supervision is provided after school. Discovery Kids is a wonderful option to assist you, and I will be contacting some parents to remind them of this.
Safety: One of the strangest safety frameworks I have to prepare is 'dogs on school grounds'. Essentially, it requires dogs to be on a leash and accompanied by a competent person to ensure there is no risk to others. Liability rests with the owner and no dogs are to enter any rooms unless permission is granted by the Principal. Full details are on our website along with our CCTV framework.
We previously advertised for qualified education assistants but received a limited response. Currently, we are advertising on both CEWA and Seek to attract high-quality candidates. Please bear with us while we find the best candidates.
Happy Harmony Week and International Poets' Day.
Thank you for your continued support, and let's keep making our school a fantastic community for our students!
Have an awesome weekend!
Kind Regards
Michael O'Dwyer
Principal

💪✨ Hanging in There! ✨💪
This superstar is showing off some serious monkey bar skills! 🐵🙌 Playtime at Holy Rosary is all about building strength, confidence, and having a swinging good time with friends. 🌟💙
Whether on the playground or in the classroom, our students love taking on new challenges—one bar at a time! Keep reaching, keep climbing, and keep having fun! 💛👏
🎉🎈 NAPLAN – Done and Dusted! 🎈🎉
A huge WELL DONE to our amazing Year 3 and Year 5 students for completing NAPLAN! 👏📚 After all their hard work and focus, it's time to celebrate, relax, and feel proud of their efforts. 🎊💪
Congratulations to each and every one of you—you gave it your best, and that’s what matters most! Now, let’s enjoy the fun times ahead! 😃✨
Celebrating difference was the theme of the week. With St Patrick’s Day, Harmony Day and Neurodivesity Week, we recognised and celebrated our different gifts and cultures and the importance of everyone sharing their talents and traditions with each other.
Our library survey identified that there are 28 different languages spoken at home in our Holy Rosary community and we were even treated to a haka from one of our very talented students!
Mindful March continues next week with lunchtime activities rotating again in April. As always, all information can be found here in the newsletter or on the whiteboard at the library door.

"May the road rise up to meet you, may the wind be always at your back, may the sun shine warm upon your face, and rains fall soft upon your fields, and until we meet again, may God hold you in the hollow of His hand." Irish Blessing
Our Year Six students started the Council Group Program today and really enjoyed themselves as they helped our community in many different ways.
The Christian Service group have started organising our Term One Vinnies pantry drive. Thank you for donating pantry staples to the tubs in the classrooms by Thursday 3rd April.
The Environment Council is set to replant sunflowers in our Veritas Garden.
The Pastoral Care Group are organising a whole school paper plane competition for lunchtime later this term.
The Community Group visited the classrooms and helped the teachers and students with their work. This fabulous and much loved program gives the Year Six students a sense of pride and belonging in their school and reminds them to give back to the community which has been a part of their lives for so long. Thank you to them all for their service today!

Community News
The King of Kings
Exciting news – there is an upcoming cinematic event that promises to inspire and uplift our communities, especially our children. Angel Studios, the creators of impactful Christian stories The Chosen and Sound of Freedom, together with Rialto Distribution, is set to release THE KING OF KINGS in cinemas on 10 April 2025 in Australia.
This animated film, featuring an all-star cast including Kenneth Branagh, Uma Thurman, Mark Hamil, Pierce Brosnan, Ben Kingsley, Forest Whitaker, and Oscar Isaac, brings to life the story of Jesus Christ through the imaginative lens of Charles Dickens narrating to his son, Walter. You can watch the trailer here https://youtu.be/Ddiqz3BT7i8 .
THE KING OF KINGS is more than just a movie—it’s a powerful tool for faith formation and moral reflection. This heartfelt retelling of Christ’s journey emphasises His love, sacrifice, and triumph, making it especially relevant for children as they grow in their understanding of faith. Through its engaging storytelling and stunning animation, the film connects timeless Christian values—compassion, courage, and hope—to the challenges of our modern world. It’s an opportunity to inspire young hearts and minds while offering families a shared experience that reinforces the Gospel in a fresh, relatable way.
