Happy Labor Day everyone! I wanted to touch base with you and share the information that I was planning on sharing at the meeting tomorrow. I understand that everyone is extremely busy these days and I feel I can share the information through this email instead of meeting on a GAME DAY!
The main reason for wanting to meet tomorrow was to share some insight on how the season will look throughout the football season during these unprecedented times. These are difficult times for all of us at LBMS and I want to assure you that we will strive to make the year as normal as possible, whenever possible.
As you all know, dealing with a pandemic in a school setting is very burdensome and stressful. Our main goal is to keep students safe and operate in a manner that is as normal as possible for our students. Unfortunately, due to COVID-19, we have had to put some things in place to follow the guidelines set by the Governor.
The good thing is that with a few changes, we will be able to have pep rallies! One of those changes is lowering the seating capacity to allow for social distancing. All three grade levels have well over 300 students and when you apply the social distance criteria, our gym will only seat less than 400 people. Due to the seating allowance, we will have to limit the pep rallies to grade levels.
We looked at different options and one of those options was an outdoor pep rally. Due to the fact that we do not have any seating on our practice field, that possibility was quickly removed. We will continue to brainstorm ideas for future pep rallies and make changes as needed. If you have any suggestions, please feel free to share those with me.
For now, I feel that we have come up with a plan to make the most of these unprecedented times.
