Elementary Instructional Technology

The start to this year has been the busiest I have ever seen at Crosby ISD. Everyone from the top down has been working so hard to make this the best year ever for our students, while at the same time dealing with major changes. Let me say that your hard work has not gone unnoticed, you are all doing a great job for our students!

This semester I will offer after school trainings to be held at BES and CES. They are open to any teacher in the district. I will offer the same training twice, once at each location. My training for January is going to be Google Classroom. The training will be held at CES on Wednesday January 11th from 4:15 - 5:15 and at BES on Thursday January 19th from 4:15 - 5:15. Please register in Eduphoria. Google Classroom is a great tool to use, come to the training to see how you can use it in your classroom.

My trainings for February/March will focus on Interactive White boards (Mimio at CES and Smartboard at BES). Dates are still TBD. If you would like to request a training topic, please let me know.

Devon Bradley (instructional tech at NES, CKC, and DES) will also offer after school technology trainings for elementary teachers. Please feel free to attend her trainings as well, I know they will be great.

Thank you to the teachers who have allowed me to come teach a lesson in their room. Teaching is what I love to do and I greatly appreciate the opportunity to interact with the students. Want me to model a lesson in your room? Send me an email. I need to know when you want the lesson and the topic you want me to cover. I will create the lesson and then model it with your class. Let me show you how to use the technology in your room to enhance your lessons.

We had a lot of fun in December with some mystery number hangouts. In a mystery number, you connect with another class via Google Hangouts. Each class picks a secret number. The classes take turns asking yes or no questions until they guess the correct number. Think "Guess Who" with numbers.

Never fear ELA teachers, there are many ways you can use Google Hangouts.
