On behalf of all the staff here at Heights, we want to wish our families a Happy New Year!

We hope you had a restful break and are ready to return to school.

We are looking forward to seeing our kiddos and the awesome energy they bring. With that, we do know that kids may be a bit lethargic as they readjust to routine for the first part of the week but in no time will be moving and thinking at full speed.

2025 will have lots in store. To highlight, our Grade 9s are graduating junior high school, and we are starting our planning already in honoring them in June. Before the break, as some or most know, the naming of the new replacement school was announced. There are neat connections to the name. Our own Mrs. Ryan, who many of our families know well, came up with the name. Ms. Malec and Mrs. Fleck also followed with the rationale as to why the name makes sense. Ultimately, the Board of Trustees agreed, and we will open the 2026-27 school year as Forest Grove School.

Understanding there is lots of excitement for the new school, there is also mixed emotion as Sherwood Heights has meant so much to the community over the last 65 years. While the Sherwood Heights building will be no longer, the tradition and pride will come with.

We will be talking more specifics about 2025 at our next School Council meeting in January. All are welcome and parent and caregiver feedback is encouraged and appreciated. We hope to see you there.
