Ronald McDonald Caremobile visits Leyden
Tuesday, April 9 (West), and Wednesday, April 10 (East), Ronald McDonald Caremobile will visit Leyden to provide services for students who need health exams or immunizations and have Medicaid or are uninsured.
The Caremobile staff will see students during the school day. A parent does not need to be present, but consent forms need to be filled out in advance. There are limited spots for both campuses and it is a first come first serve basis. Information packets have been mailed to students. Questions may be directed to the school nurses: West Leyden, Rhonda Kazmierczak, BSN, RN- (847) 451-3130 and East Leyden, Marlene Cuevas, BSN, RN- (847) 451-3084.
This partnership is made possible by Advocate Children’s Hospital and the Leyden Health Offices.
Leyden screened more than 1,200 students for potential heart issues
Over the course of two days, Young Hearts for Life® (YH4L) in partnership with Leyden, provided free EKG screens for more than 1,200 students. As a result, 10 students were referred to their physicians for follow up on identified potential issues. This new partnership with YH4L has provided a potentially life-saving opportunity, and we are grateful for volunteers, students and families participation in this event.
Virtual parent series continues
The School of Hard Talks: Motivational Interviewing for Better Conversations and Stronger Relationships.
On Tuesday, March 19, Dr. Emily Kline will present two sessions via zoom at 12 p.m. and at 7:00 p.m.
