📓 TONIGHT: As part of Read Across America Week we are excited to invite our 3rd and 4th grade families to "Reading Under the Stars" from 6:00 pm to 7:30 pm in the school gym. This enchanting evening will be filled with stories, 'stargazing', and the joy of reading. We encourage you to bring your favorite books to make this reading experience extra special for you and your child.

Tuesday, 3/12, Parent-Teacher Conferences (PTC) 1:00-6:00pm and Wednesday, 3/13, PTC 1:00-3:00pm. Take note, 2/12 and 2/13 are half-days for all K-8 students due to PTC.
📓 Save the Date: 8th Grade Pictures are scheduled for NEXT Tuesday, March 12th.
Please note the following:
- Graduation gowns are provided by Lifetouch Studios. Caps are not worn in graduation pictures. Traditionally girls wear golden rod yellow and boys wear maroon.
- RETAKES will not be available for 8th-grade pictures.
- Pictures will also be available for purchase online after picture day. Picture Day ID: EVTRF463X

The Literacy Enrichment Afterschool Program (LEAP) offers K-12 out-of-school programming in Neighborhood Libraries. This programming fosters an inclusive, informal learning environment for children, teens, and families, with accessible learning activities that build on life skills, Maker philosophies, and wellness concepts.

Check out their upcoming event! This is a FREE event for the community and will include special performances, job resources, programs, and home repair service information available!

McIlvain Playground: Summer Camp registration starts on February 26th!
Heitzman Rec. Center:
Heitzman Summer Camp 2024!
Open Registration will take place Monday-Friday 3-8pm, beginning Monday 2/26/24.
When: Monday - Friday
July 1 - August 16, 2024 (no camp 7/4 & 7/5)
Time: 9AM – 3PM (Before and After camp care available)
Cost: $50 per week or $325/total encampment ($20 non-refundable registration fee required at registration)
Ages: 6-12. No child can be 13 before 7/1/24. 6 year old’s must have completed Kindergarten to attend camp.

What is Safe2Say Something?
Here’s how it works:
- Submit an anonymous tip report through the Safe2SaySomething system
- The crisis center reviews and processes all submissions
- The crisis center sends all submissions to school administration and/or law enforcement for intervention
- If needed, the crisis center may contact the tipster anonymously through the app

FAMILIES IN TRANSITION: NORTHWOOD IS HERE TO HELP
If you and your family lack fixed, regular, or adequate housing (for example, living in a shelter, transitional home, or even doubled-up with other people) due to loss of housing or economic hardship, you may qualify for certain rights and protections under the federal McKinney-Vento Homeless Assistance Act, which ensures educational stability for students experiencing homelessness.
