Panda Express is holding a Dine to Donate event for the FZ Community Closet and Pantry this Friday, Sept. 6th all day! Please grab some yummy food and support the Pantry!
Thank you to Christmas Unlimited for donating school supplies again this year to our zone. Supplies are given to students and teachers in the zone that may need them!
If you have not applied for free or reduced status yet, please review the information below to do so. This is something that has to be applied for each year. Although school lunches are free for everyone, gaining free or reduced status will eliminate or lessen other school, class, and athletic fees. There are other benefits outside of school that families who qualify can receive.
We are excited to move to a Zone Wide SAC (School Accountability Committee) this school year! All schools will meet at Woodmen Hills Elementary School this Thursday, Sept. 5th. Dinner will be served starting at 5 followed by a short session with Zone Leadership at 5:30. Each building will then breakout into their individual SAC sessions. We are excited for this opportunity to connect with all of our schools at once.

Empowering Moments
From Superintendent Smith...
First off, FHS Seniors gathered for their Senior Sunrise event to mark the beginning of their year of final events as a K-12 student. The theme was "Anything but a lawn chair" and there were some creative entries for all of our Seniors to enjoy time together out on the Football field. Numerous staff from both Falcon Zone and Falcon High showed up to help cook breakfast and celebrate with the Seniors of 2025. It was a great team for students to network together and come together as one class. To all of our Seniors, keep the effort up to enhance your self-confidence, continue to pursue wisdom with academic excellence, and further network with each other to show that strong Falcon spirit! Our community is behind you and we look forward to the continued celebrations as the year progresses!
At Bennett Ranch Elementary, student engaged in their annual Field Day event. The BRES Bulls rotated around to various stations where they completed various physical challenges led by our own Falcon Middle School Firebird student leaders. Students were excited to participate in all of the unique events. The BRES Staff did an awesome job celebrating accomplishments with all of their students along the way. Numerous community members and parents came to participate, volunteer, and support their students as the day progressed. The event culminated with a school wide truck pull so they could accomplish an even bigger challenge together! Our BRES Bulls were determined and built a strong level of Grit as they completed their Field Day!
And, at our annual District 49 Peak View Event this past Friday, Falcon Zone showed up and displayed awesome Integrity! There was an incredible energy from all 6 of our Falcon Zone Schools as we learned about the accomplishments throughout the District, reviewed key annual goals, and celebrated milestones that many of our schools reached. It was awesome to watch all of our schools cheer for each other, recognize the outstanding efforts that have been put forward by our educators, and hear from one of our own FHS Seniors about the impacts that teachers and staff have on student success. It was an awesome day and another example how our staff also works to increase our Wisdom, promote Integrity, Network with each other, celebrate the Grit that has been demonstrated, and increase Self-Confidence to best impact all of our learners. Keep up the good work Falcon Zone! Earn those WINGS!

Students in Ms. Simons theater class worked on their self-confidence by reading though a script in a large circle with their 6th grade classmates. Each student was given a role and worked to practice for a group read in class!
Melissa Ardolf worked with Talented and Gifted students on their Affective goals. Students wanted to get better at raising their hand, being more outgoing and not being so bossy! These goals help them work on their self-confidence and critical thinking skills.
Stay Tuned next week to see how more Falcon Zone Students "EARN THEIR WINGS"

We 💚 Our Falcon Zone Staff
Damion Suarez (FES) - Damion is a new para to FES this year and has truly just jumped in with both feet. His love of students and willingness to work, not only with the SPED students with which he is assigned, but all students that need support (when he has a free moment) has been amazing! He really takes time to connect with students in such a way that they know that he cares about them as people. In just a few short weeks he has built relationships with students that are struggling with behaviors and/ or academically. Damion is using his role to transform lives at FES!
Joy Kovanda (FMS) - I would like to recognize Joy for her hard work each and every day. She is constantly moving through the school helping teachers, paras and students navigate this school year. It has been a busy beginning, but she jumps up and is always helpful. She is also so fun to work with! I appreciate her and all that she does for FMS.
8th Grade Red Team (FMS) - The 8th Grade Red Team has gone ABOVE and BEYOND to make the start of the year enjoyable for my son. He loves being in each and every one of their classes and is excited to go to school each day. The staff members on this team have also been very understanding and accommodating while my son has been battling some health issues that have kept him out of school recently. They are responsive to emails and even make positive phone calls home. As a parent it is very encouraging to hear about the positive impact your student is making at school. I can't say enough great things about these individuals and I look forward to a wonderful 8th grade year. Thank you all SO MUCH!
Nurse Nelda (FMS) - Nurse Nelda has been such a positive and supportive staff member for my son, who has been battling some health issues to start off the year. Her communication is amazing and she goes above and beyond to check on the kids and takes a genuine interest in their well being. We know he is in great hands if he needs to take a trip to the health room and it is a safe space for him thanks to Nurse Nelda!
