Raider Update
March 31, 2024

Message from the Superintendent
Greetings Raider Families and Staff,
I hope you enjoyed the holiday weekend and are looking forward to returning tomorrow. Today’s update is a brief one which includes a reminder about updating all contact information, information about next week’s college fair, and the usual calendar reminders.
Contact Information - With last week’s late start, we heard from a few of you that you didn’t get the message or received it on one device, but not all. We rely on up-to-date phone numbers, addresses, and e-mail addresses to reach all of our families. Please take a minute to review all your contact information and make any necessary changes.
College, Career and Job Fair - On Wednesday, April 3rd from 5:00-7:30 one-hundred colleges, businesses and organizations will be on site at the high school. The complete flyer is available here. Please make plans to attend.
Calendar Updates and Reminders: Please review the district calendar and the event calendar to make sure you don’t miss any events. As you know, spring gets incredibly busy, especially for our families with seniors.
Thank you for your continued support.
Sincerely,
Dr. Tamara Champa
Superintendent

ISD 200 Staff Spotlight
Fannie Livaditis - District Office Welcome Center
Visitors to our ISD200 buildings can expect a friendly welcome. Fannie Linaditis, the administrative assistant of the Human Resources department, manages the welcome center at the district office and provides this warm greeting.
Fannie has only been with ISD200 for just over three months, but she loves her job! “I love the staff I work with and the variety of people I get to welcome to the district office,” says Ms. Livaditis.
“My job as Welcome Center in our district office is to make you feel welcome whenever you visit and to support my coworkers. I love the Hastings area and have always admired the academic world and the influence that educators have on young minds. I am proud to be a part of ISD200,” shares Fannie.
Ms. Livaditis is inspired by many. In addition to those who put their lives on the line to serve others, she is also grateful for those who work in public education. “I am inspired by the men and women who teach our young. They are one of the biggest influences in a student’s life. In addition, the staff who work to help make the experience of our students the best it can be,” says Fannie.
Fannie enjoys entertaining, cooking, board games, reading, road trips, traveling, and outdoor activities outside of work.
Great people like Fannie keep our district running efficiently. Thank you to Fannie and the many other ISD200 employees who help make Hastings Schools a great place to grow.
Hastings High School Ceramics Students present: Empty Bowls, April 17
You are invited to attend the Empty Bowls event on Wednesday, April 17th, at 5:30 p.m. in the HHS Commons. Guests can choose their bowl and enjoy a light meal from 5:30 - 6:30 p.m., followed by a short presentation on hunger in our community and the world.
Empty Bowls events happen worldwide, and the premise is simple: guests choose a handmade bowl to use that evening and take home as a reminder that there are always Empty Bowls in the world. The suggested minimum donation is ten dollars in exchange for a meal and the bowl as a keepsake. The proceeds from Empty Bowls will be split between the Hastings Family Service (our local food shelf) and Heifer International, which will enable us to donate an ark to needy families. An ark is oxen, rabbits, cows, sheep, goats, and healthier, hardy animals that will go forth and multiply, improving lives for countless families and children all over the world. Our goal this year is to raise $4,000 or more! Seeing so many young people passionate about working together to end world hunger is exciting. We hope you can join us!
For more information or to make a donation, please feel free to contact HHS art teacher Bert Casperson at bertcasperson@isd200.org. Thank you!!
