The Upcoming Zelda Game: Echoes of Wisdom
Guess what Zelda enthusiasts? Nintendo is creating a new game called The Legends of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom. You get to play as Princess Zelda herself, isn’t that amazing? The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom is a remake of Link's Awakening. The people who play can control Princess Zelda who can use the power of the Tri Rod to create “echoes”, which are imitations of objects and monsters. Echoes may be used freely throughout the world, though; a limit exists to the amount that may be summoned,as shown by the number of triangles visible by the fairy Tri. In addition, the player has the ability to "bind" objects, such that an object moves as they move (or vice versa: they move as an object moves, allowing them to float.)
Zelda can travel using a variety of methods including: echoes, fast travel sites, or a horse. Also, she may change outfits or equipment and can combine ingredients to purchase smoothies. The back story is that While rescuing Zelda from Ganon, Link disappears after being sucked into a mysterious rift, with similar rifts appearing throughout Hyrule and causing others to disappear. Zelda sets out to save Link and Hyrule with the help from the mysterious fairy Tri, who gives her the Tri Rod. Many of the people of Hyrule are present in the game's version of Hyrule, including the Deku Scrubs, Gerudo, Gorons, and both river and ocean Zora. Don't forget to try the other Zelda games like Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom.

The Case of Trump Assassination Attempt
The Case of Trump assassination attempt was a big talk going around back on July 13th, 2024.
The reasoning for all the talk was because of Trump's speech in Butler, Pennsylvania. When there was an assassination attempt towards Trump. The Republican Party candidate and former President. Additionally, when Trump got shot in the ear, they had told him he was shot in more than just the ear, Trump refused, saying that he was not shot anywhere other than the ear. In an interview on Twitter, Trump said that his thoughts were ”He needed to get up to show the people that he was okay.” Many people thought the shot was on the left ear but it was actually on the right. Another thing is that the shot happened at the beginning of the speech and not the end.
However, there are many different theories going around. For instance, someone named Mark Violet was involved in the shooting of Trump. Mark Violets later posted a video saying ”I was not involved.” When Mark Violet posted this video people commented and/or started saying “You were caught” “Don't lie your way out” and just spamming rude comments. Another, theory would be that Thomas Mathew Crooks shot alone. Many people believe that he wasn't even the one that shot Trump, but others believe he was. Thomas Mathew Crooks was only twenty-years-old during the shooting. Now, we can't confirm that the shooter was Thomas Mathew Crooks because there was a leaked picture saying that the dead body looked more like Maxwell Yearick, a thirty-year-old left-wing extremist from Perry South. Information people might want to know or may be asking could be “what type of gun did Trump get shot with?” Well, here's your answer: Trump was shot with an AR-15 rifle that was legally purchased by Crook's father. There are many different theories behind the assassination attempt and we will touching on other speculative theories in our ongoing column.

The Total Solar Eclipse
The Total Solar Eclipse is an astronomical event that occurs about once every year at any location around the world. On April 8, 2024 the total solar eclipse crossed over North America. The solar eclipse passed over Mexico, the United States, and Canada. The last eclipse before 2024 was on August, 21, 2017. Astronomers predict that the next Total Solar Eclipse will occur on August 23, 2044. That being said, how exactly does this event occur?
The total solar eclipse is an astronomical event where the moon passes between the sun and the earth. Completely covering the sun’s face. The ring of light we see around the sun is called The Diamond Ring. It was given this name for the fact that it looks like a ring with shining diamonds on it. The diamond ring occurs during the beginning and end of totality. The diamond ring has multiple names, the ring is also called the Ring of Fire. It's given this name because the bright ring of light around the moon looks like fire, or a ring of fire. During the total solar eclipse the sky gets really dark as if it's night time. It's unsafe to look at the solar eclipse with your bare eyes. You should get special glasses that can protect your eyes. Some facts about the total solar eclipse is that on the 5th of March in 1223 BC was the first ever recorded solar eclipse. More facts are that the duration of totality in a total solar eclipse can only last up to seven minutes.

Mr. Huerta is on the Hot Seat!
What made you want to pursue the career of a band teacher?
I volunteered with bands for a long time and enjoyed it more than my full time job so I decided to go back and get a teaching certificate.
2. What was the hardest thing that you had to do to become a band teacher?
Student teaching during Spring of 2020.
3. If you could go back in time, where would you go?
Probably post World War II. There were so many technological advancements and pieces of society that were pushing forward. Also, muscle cars.
4. What is your most precious item you own?
My member jacket from when I marched in drum corps with the Cavaliers.
5. What is the scariest thing you have ever encountered?
I had to land a plane without functional landing gear.
6. Have you almost ever quit being a band teacher ? If so, why?
Not yet. I love it every day.
7. Have you ever been in a life threatening situation?
I was in a pretty nasty motorcycle wreck in college.
8. Why do you believe musical education is important to the younger generations?
Multiple reasons. There are many studies that show how music helps make connections in the brain but most importantly, I think the band gives many students a place that they consider a home at school and gives them something to be proud of.
9. If you could be in any other profession what would it be? Why?
A pilot!
10. What struggles do you face when teaching these younger students?
Finding ways to motivate students.
11. What advice would you give to students hoping to pursue a career in the musical industry?
Enjoy what you do! Without passion, it is a very difficult industry to survive in.
12. (If you HAD to pick) What is your favorite instrument?
Trumpet (I play trumpet)
13. Who has encouraged you to pursue a music career?
Many people! I could make a long list of people who told me I SHOULD be a band director and I ignored them for a long time. Eventually, I came to realize they were right and I couldn’t be happier.
14. Do you think the music industry has declined in quality lately?
Definitely not. The music industry is always changing and whether or not you like it is a personal preference.
15. What is something you have done in the past that you deeply regret?
The motorcycle.
16 What is your favorite thing to do in your freetime?.
I have gotten really into skiing in the past year but on a normal weekend you can find me playing video games.
17. Do you have any pets? If so, what are they?
I have a dog named Stella!
18. If the world was ending, what would you do?
Enjoy time with the people I love and make the best out of the time we had left.
19. What is the biggest mistake you have ever made in your career?
There are many mistakes I’ve made in my career but I wouldn’t say I regret making them. Mistakes are how you learn and I believe my past mistakes have made me a MUCH better band director.
20. Do you have a favorite celebrity, if so who is it?
I can’t really say that I follow any celebrities that closely.
21. What was your dream career as a child?
A professional baseball player or a fighter pilot. I never wanted to be a band director as a kid, but I’m really happy I became one!

New Billie Eilish Album
Billie Eilish is a famous singer who has been on tours and been loved by many, mostly because of how pretty her voice is and how her words are very soothing. She was a small singer who randomly went viral for her first song which was “Ocean Eyes" in 2015. Her producer was mostly her brother who helped get her find her voice and made her even sing the hard parts, especially those crazy lyrics.
Billie recently released an album that has been streamed a lot since becoming available on spotify, like can you believe how many fans she has? I'm one of them, so I can actually believe it. She is famous so you would expect her to be friends with many celebrities, who have been with her while she won Grammys and sang songs at concerts. I would say that she did deserve those Grammys since all of her
albums were a hit, just like “Don't smile at me” and “When we fall asleep”. Those are the ones that were a hit and made her a lot of money. Billie releases samples of her songs so we can hear what's coming, since she has had us all waiting. She has the fans in the palm of her hands, since the new album is trending people have used it in many videos on tiktok, instagram, etc. The most popular songs - mostly
all of them - but in reality it's more like "Lunch" or "Blue", since one of those songs were sampled. I'm just saying that over these pack few years, she has been really successful and
this recent album has solidified her legacy.

USA brings home the Gold and then some!
Did you hear? In this year's 2024 Paris Olympics USA tied for the most gold medals. They also won the count for the most medals in all! You are probably saying that's no surprise, but the competition was very tough this year. If you don’t remember, we tied China for gold medals and China has amazing athletes that they are probably proud about. They were definitely a competitive team! Of course, we pulled it through in the end. USA set many Olympic records and worked harder than ever! USA started the Olympics with full hearts and inspired minds. The team knew that if they didn’t win, it was still such an honor to even be picked to go to the Olympics. That represents USA even better knowing we have such a good, strong, and dedicated team. Competing in the Olympics wasn’t the only thing to look forward too, they got to go to the Eiffel Tower, enjoy the food (especially the croissants), and they got to be able to enjoy a vacation of a lifetime. For us knowing that our country's athletes are one of the best in the world, it feels like we ourselves are winning a gold medal, and that's the best kind of victory. Also, as a fun fact the medals all had a piece of the Eiffel Tower in them!

Shark Attacks in South Padre
The same shark attacked four people. They had to go to the hospital because
they got bit. The people got mistaken as fish by the shark. Two people were bitten, the
third person was grazed, and the fourth one was fending off the shark. Tabatha Sullivent
was one of the two people that got badly bitten. Tabatha Sullivent is 47 years old from
Celina, Texas and she had to go into surgery. There was a 35 year old man from La
Vernia, Texas who also had to go into surgery. The other victim is a 49 year old man
from Celina, Texas. He did not have to go into surgery, he just had to get treated. The
South Padre Mayor Patrick McNutly said “ it is an unprecedented event that has never
happened before”. The last shark attack was five years ago in South Padre. This all
happened on the fourth of July weekend. Tabatha Sullivent thought it was just a big fish
and she was going to kick it away, but then it grabbed her. She thought it had let go of her and then
she was able to swim away with one leg and two arms. Her husband tried to fight the
shark off, but the shark also bit him, but not as bad as his wife. The shark followed her back to shallow
water, because she was bleeding. The shark bit her left calf off and her leg is pretty much
gone. But, overall; the four people survived after treatment and surgeries. Tabatha Sullivent posted
a video about what happened about her online.

Hurricane Beryl
Hurricane Beryl was a natural disaster formed on June 28, 2024. The hurricane had wind gusts around the Freeport-Galveston area of up to 94 miles per hour. It lasted about a week or June 28th - July 9th of 2024. Beryl's center crossed the coast at 4 a.m. CDT July 8 near Matagorda, Texas knocking down houses and buildings and flooding cities as well as causing a billion dollars to $1.5 billion in insurable losses produced in the Windward Islands, Jamaica, and the Cayman Islands. Mexico sustained less than a billion dollars in damage. For several of the Windward Islands, Beryl was the worst storm to impact the region since Hurricane Emily in 2005. While people were worrying about the hurricane and trying to track it down, many news reporters were saying that it was possible that it may go many different ways. Hurricane Beryl was a landfall as a Category 1 Hurricane near Matagorda, Texas, with impacts continuing North/Northeast with strong winds, heavy rainfall, and flooding. Texans who sustained damage caused by tropical weather are encouraged to report damage through the Individual State of Texas Assessment Tool (iSTAT).

Dear Abby
Dear Abby,
There are teens around the world dealing with bullying, mental health issues, and so much more. As teens ourselves we struggle with the same problems, so we will try and help as much as we can.
They’re many different hotlines for teens to call or text for help. Such as, 988 Suicide and Crisis Life line which help and provides 24/7 free and confidential support for people in distress.
Here are ways to help people going through things without knowing what they are going through. Such as, listening to them speak and be there for whatever they need. However, you can ask simple follow up questions such as ”what has been on your mind while going through this?” This shows you are still there and willing to help and listen to them for anything they may need. This can build a lot of trust with people and also know they are there for you when you need them. Without them knowing what is going on.
As a teen, it's a good feeling to know you always have open arms your age there waiting for you. Now yes, your parents are always there. It's not always easy to talk to them about certain things.
Abby - As a teen we are never alone. Whether it's to get a hold of a teen hotline to call or text about problems. Or to get in touch with a close friend or someone that is your age or close to your age.

Janitor Appreciation
I believe us Bandera kids should have a janitor appreciation week/day and raise money for cleaning supplies. I believe we should raise money for cleaning supplies because money is being deducted every week from the schools money and it's because immature kids don't know how to not use a little bit of soap. I also think that we need to get new brooms and trash cans because they are all old and raggedy. I feel like the janitors are a big thing to our school. You like a clean school right? You don't want to work in a dirty school because it will be hard to concentrate because you would be worried about the bugs. That's why we need to thank the janitors. We should decorate their door(s), throw a little party, and get them food. I believe we should do this sometime in September - October so we can have about 2 months to throw it and raise the money. I believe this is important to viewers so that they can realize that the janitors aren’t your mamma!! But wait, I have more ideas... We should get them signed cards from every classroom and every student and teacher gets to sign them. Also, we should have a huge assemble and let them share staff stories of appreciation. I believe that we should notice what they're doing and why they're doing it. We should buy them coffee, donuts, random gifts, and highlight them in a newsletter.

Goblins Invade Bandera, Texas!
As of October 31, 2043 small green human-like creatures with large pointy ears and pompous noses called “goblins” began raiding the small town of Bandera Texas. Recently, officials have captured a goblin soldier to interrogate him. The goblin’s exact words were, “We Gobbos’ have suffered in these lands for long enough. We think it time to bring glory to us”. Though people's lives may be at stake due to the goblins, officials have given very clear instructions on how to survive.
1. Use rusty metals as weapons. Goblins don’t have access to vaccine technology so can easily be defeated by tetanus and other diseases.
2. Barricade all entrances to your residence. Goblins are short, so as long as they can’t reach your door knob, you’ll be fine. But sometimes they will stack on top of each other so it’s still important to prevent the doors from opening.
3. Keep your distance when possible. Goblins excel at close quarters combat, often
swarming in large groups to overwhelm people. If you follow these three steps, you will survive the goblin onslaught. As of January 24, 2044, the goblins have claimed the lives of 5 people and have injured 23 people. At the beginning of the raid, there were 30,000 goblins. Now, there’s only around
1,000 who aren’t captured or dead. Citizens, you can be rest assured that your safety is our top priority in these times. Specialized care personnel will be going from house to house with supplies to help ensure your safety.
