HV Update 5-16-25
A message from your principal, Mrs. Stager
We were absolutely spoiled this week for Teacher Appreciation!! Thank you to the HSA for making us feel so loved. It was a grand slam!! We appreciate all the time so many of you took to cook, assemble trays, drop off, donate, etc. A huge shout out to Tara Barnard for all the set up, clean up, decorations, and special touches that were enjoyed by everyone. The massages, flowers, smoothies, charcuterie cups, baseball donuts - it was all truly amazing!! The HV HSA won the World Series in our book this week. THANK YOU!!
Also, thank you to Mrs. Maier, the HSA, and numerous volunteers for an incredible Field Day! A special recognition is definitely in order for the "Ice Man" Angelo Caliente who made sure no one dehydrated and kept the drinks cold. It was an awesome, memorable day that would not be possible without your help!
Just a reminder for next week, school is closed on Friday, May 23rd-Tuesday, May27th for Memorial Day weekend.
Have a great weekend!
Best,
Allison

Kindergarten Registration
If you have a child turning 5 years old on or before October 1, 2025 and you are planning to enroll in kindergarten for the fall, it's imperative to complete the registration paperwork as soon as possible. The district is currently planning sectioning and school assignments for incoming kindergarteners. We need all younger siblings eligible for kindergarten registered to secure school placement with older siblings. If you have friends and neighbors that need to register their children, please encourage them to do so as quickly as possible. Registration information can be found on our website. Kindergarten Orientation will be held at each elementary school on June 5th at 9:00 A.M.
Principal for a Day!
Another Friday made fun with a guest Principal for the Day! Thank you to Angelo Caliente for all the hard work and awesome conversation.

From the Health Office
Spring has Sprung!... and so have Spring Allergies!
We're looking forward to the budding trees and blooming flowers, but some of us suffer from seasonal allergies! Symptoms include: itchy eyes, scratchy throat, cough, runny nose or congestion, and watery eyes. It could be hard to determine when to keep your child home. Follow these guidelines:
- Keep your child home if he/she does not feel well enough to participate in normal activities, even if fever-free.
- Keep your child home until fever-free for 24 hours without the need to take fever-reducing medication (fever is defined 100.4 and above).
- If nausea/vomiting- keep your child home until at least 24 hours after the last episode of vomiting.
- If your child has strep throat- keep your child home until at least 12 hours have passed since the start of antibiotic treatment and fever-free for 24 hours without the need to take fever-reducing medication and feeling well enough to participate in normal activities.
- If your child is Covid-19 positive, keep home and call your school nurse for the latest guidelines.
- When reporting an absence, please report symptoms and any official diagnoses.
- Obtain a doctor's note if your child is sick for 3 or more days.
- Remind your child about practicing good hand hygiene and respiratory etiquette

Climate Survey
Good Afternoon Pequannock Township School District Families:
Last spring the District administered a climate survey as part of an ongoing effort to assess collective perceptions of school culture, discipline, and general school climate. To continue our efforts to address the overall school experience for students and families, we will be administering the survey again to students in grades 4-12 as well as parents the week of June 2.
Data will be used to evaluate current efforts and growth in areas such as anti-bullying and character education. If you have any questions or wish to see the student survey beforehand, please contact Dr. O'Keefe at daniel.okeefe@pequannock.org. If you wish to opt your child(ren) out of the survey, kindly complete this form no later than May 31, 2025.
