Spanish and French 4 & 5 Students ...
Please note that given the current circumstance, the University at Albany will be providing additional flexibility to our current French and Spanish Level 4 & 5 students in regards to grading and course withdrawal.
Grading: Instead of receiving the traditional letter grade, students may choose S/U grading on their SUNY transcript. (S = Satisfactory/ C or higher; U = Unsatisfactory/C- or lower)
When making the choice to change to S/U grading, students should consider the
following impacts:
Transfer plans could be impacted in some cases.
A student may want GPA-impacting course grades in order to be competitive for school admissions (and other purposes external to the program).
Once students select S/U, they will not be able to return to A-E at a later date.
Once you have made your decision:
Keeping the letter grade: No action is needed.
Choosing S/U grading: Notify either Madame McKinley or Señora Willson of your decision. Information on how to apply for this option will be shared once it becomes available.
Regardless of your decision, you will still receive a numerical grade on your high school transcript.
Dropping a Full-Year Course (“W” assigned):
Withdrawal Deadlines are being extended.
Individual withdrawal requests for 2019-2020 must be submitted to SUNY Albany by May 22, 2020.
Visit uhs@albany.edu for withdrawal information.
