From the Principal.... Matt Clark
Greetings Thompson families! I can’t believe the start of the school year is just around the corner! Summer has flown by, and now we’re ready to welcome a new school year. I, for one, am thrilled to have students back in the halls next week—it’s been lonely here during the summer.
Thank you for your patience as we finalize student schedules. I encourage you to check your child’s schedule on Tuesday evening, as minor adjustments may still be made. To ease any anxiety, we’ll provide every student with a copy of their schedule in their first-period class on Wednesday, and staff will be in the hallways to help students find their way to their first class.
With that, our master schedule is very tight, and while some requests may seem simple, they oftentimes are not. One class change, period change, or team change can create a ripple effect that impacts multiple students and/or classes. Unfortunately, this means we can’t accommodate every request.
So as your child prepares for the first day of school on Wednesday, please remind them that everything will not go as planned, and they may face some challenges. At Thompson, we emphasize the importance of “perseverance” to our students. Overcoming obstacles is how we all learn and grow, even if it’s not what your child wants to hear (I know that’s the case with my 6th grader).
Below is some important information pertaining to the school year. One important item of note is that every Wednesday this school year is an early release day. This includes the first day of school on August 14th.
I’m looking forward to an awesome school year starting next week and hope everyone has a wonderful weekend.
Roll Thunder!

NEW Athletics Webpage!
We are excited to introduce our new TMS Athletic website, which will be your one-stop site for registration, schedules, and all TMS Athletic information! This platform is currently used by our high schools, so you may already have an account. Once you have an account, you will be able to continue to use it when your child goes to high school. If you are unfamiliar with this website, no need to worry, please see our step-by-step guide that will assist you in registering your child.
All Fall sports are now open for registration on the website. Sign-up today using this link! All athletic registration fees will still be paid through your existing PushCoin account.
Donations Gladly Accepted!
The Nurse's Office is requesting bottled water and saltine crackers (from a peanut free facility).
Thanks in advance for your generosity!!
Save the Date... Color Palooza is coming!
Thursday, September 12th from 4-6pm
Get to know your peers and dive into a burst of fun at the Color Palooza, organized by the TMS PTO! This vibrant back-to-school event is all about excitement and interaction, with no running required. Join students, families, staff, and community members to explore a variety of color-themed activities and stations.
Each participant receives a white shirt to showcase the colorful splashes created during the event. Enjoy delicious pizza, refreshing drinks, and Kona shaved ice while you take part in the festivities. The Color Palooza is a fantastic way to celebrate school spirit and unity, all while supporting Thompson Middle School through funds raised from registration fees, sponsorships, and donations.
Don’t miss out on this memorable day of color and community spirit!
Thursday, Sept 12. 4-6pm
Looking to get more involved? Volunteering at Color Palooza is a great way to meet other parents, engage with the PTO, and contribute to a memorable community event. We need volunteers for various roles, including activity stations, registration, food and drink service, and event setup/cleanup.
