A Message From The Principal & Administrative Team...
Bay Path Faculty & Support Staff:
Subject: Embracing Week Two: Building a Culture of Support
I hope this message finds you all rested and in high spirits as we embark on our second week of this school year. It's been a whirlwind of excitement, learning, and collaboration, and I couldn't be prouder of the dedication and enthusiasm I've witnessed from everyone.
Here are a few weekly thoughts, as we prepare to venture into week #2:
High School Games Kick Off: As we head into our second week, I want to take a moment to acknowledge the start of our fall high school games. These events not only provide a platform for our student athletes to showcase their talents and sportsmanship but also offer an opportunity for us as a school community to come together and support our young athletes. Let us remember that our involvement in these events goes beyond the final score; it's about fostering a sense of unity and community among our students and staff. Please try to stop by and cheer on our teams. I have added the schedule for our fall home games below - hope to see you at a game.
Teacher-Student Relationships: Building meaningful teacher-student relationships is at the heart of what we do. During these initial weeks, we have the chance to lay the foundation for strong, supportive connections that will last throughout the year. Our students look to us not only as educators but also as mentors and role models. Let us approach every interaction with empathy, patience, and a genuine desire to see our students succeed. These relationships are essential and lead toward a positive school culture, and they have a lasting impact on the academic and personal growth of our students.
A Culture of Support: Creating a culture of support is not a task we take lightly. It's about more than just words; it's about our actions and our collective commitment to each other's success. We must remember that our colleagues are our greatest resources. Whether you need help with a challenging student, are seeking innovative teaching ideas, or just need a listening ear, know that you have a network of colleagues here who are ready to support you.
This week, I encourage you all to reach out to a fellow staff member, engage in conversations about teaching strategies, share your experiences, and lend a helping hand where needed. By nurturing a culture of support among ourselves, we set a powerful example for our students and demonstrate the strength of our educational community.
In closing, I want to express my deep appreciation for your hard work, dedication, and passion for education. Together, we can make this school year an exceptional one for our students, filled with growth, achievement, and a sense of belonging. Every great school strives to make this their overall focus.
Thank you for all that you do, and let's make this second week even better than the first! #BPFamily...
Other relevant weekly topics:
1. A fire drill will take place within the first two weeks of school. Please be sure to review all evacuation routes and practices accordingly.
2. I am super excited about Jeans and/or School Culture Day on Fridays (or Thursdays if there is a shortened week). However, please remember that there is a level of professional dress during the rest of the week. Let's set the bar high in this capacity.
3. In accordance to our Crisis Planning, please be sure to review Stay in Place and Lock Down procedures with your students - our Safety Team will be meeting again soon to review our upcoming trainings.
4. Stay as current as possible with grading in iPass. I know how busy teachers are, but students and parents want to monitor progress of academic growth. Thanks in advance for your cooperation.
5. The SST (Student Support Team) will be meeting this week. We will be monitoring students both academically & behaviorally. All students will receive a tiered ranking of 1, 2 or 3 - 2 & 3 lead toward interventions and action plans. We will also be monitoring attendance. We will be sharing out this information once it becomes built.
6. We are very excited about having a Tier 3 Intervention Program to assist students based on need. The BRYT Program will allow for us to offer access points and transitional assistance for students who are in need of support. This program is staffed by a special education instructor and an adjustment counselor.
Thanks all for now... Please be sure to review back to this email for additional information.
