Tuesday, August 23, 5:30-7:00pm
We are so excited to meet you at Meet-the-Teacher night! Here are some details about how the evening will work:
We will get started at 5:30 and wrap up at 7:00pm.
Parents will rotate through each of their children’s classes in order as if going through a regular eight period school day. You will spend seven minutes in each class and then have a brief passing period to get to the next class.
During the “class time”, teachers will introduce themselves, tell you about the expectations in their classrooms and about some school wide expectations as well. Unfortunately, teachers will not have time to answer individual questions or do individual introductions. You are welcome to email the teachers after the event with any specific questions you may have about their classes.
If you plan to drive to the school, please remember that our parking lot fills up quickly so you will want to come early to make sure you have time to find parking and get into the building!
We do ask that you leave your students at home. Our classrooms seat only about 28 middle-school sized people. If we have two parents for each student - that is already twice the number of people we normally squeeze in!
You will need to write down your child’s schedule BEFORE the event. We will not be able to look up and provide schedules as the event moves very quickly!
Use the schedule planner attached to write out your child’s schedule in advance of Tuesday. Having the teacher’s name will be the most helpful item to help us get you to the right rooms quickly! We will have staff and some Student Council helpers in the hallways to help you find classrooms.
If you have more than one student at Cobb, feel free to pop between the teachers that you feel most compelled to meet! :)
Cobb Communications Preferences Survey
In order to communicate better with our Cobb Community, please take this brief (4-question) communications preference survey by clicking here. Your responses are greatly appreciated!
Parents and students - part of our Cobb community needs your help!
At our campus, we have a program called Structured Learning, this is for students that have profound communication disabilities. Each year, we offer a class called Partners PE in which students from general education attend PE class with students from the Structured Learning class to help them participate in some physical activity. It is a very rewarding experience for all who are involved. We need more students in our general education program to participate! This is an elective, but it does satisfy the PE requirement for the year! If you have a student in 7th or 8th grade who is in PE or needs another year of PE and you think this class might be a good fit, please reach out to your child’s counselor ASAP as our need to enroll more students in this class is urgent! Thank you so much!

Please review these important reminders ...
- Item drop offs in the front office are not allowed. Forgotten items such as Chromebooks, cell phones, water bottles, band and orchestra instruments, PE uniforms, athletics gear, etc... stay at home, if forgotten.
- If you suspect your child has COVID-19, please keep your student home from school until you can see a health care provider or take and receive results from a COVID-19 test, including an at-home test. Students who test positive for COVID-19 will be required to stay home until at least 5 days have passed since their symptom onset and their symptoms improve, or since their positive test if they have no symptoms.
- Covid-19 Absences- Students who test positive for COVID-19 will receive up to 5 excused absences per incident, separate from the eight parent notes provided each year. Parents must submit a picture or copy of a positive COVID-19 test, including an at-home test, for the absences to be excused. Parents of students who choose to stay home as a result of exposure to someone with COVID-19 may use parent notes to excuse the absences. These parent notes will count toward the eight parent notes allowed. Any absences after the eight parent notes will be unexcused.
