Dear Hayshire Families,

The Hayshire Art Show is scheduled for Thursday, April 10 from 6:00-7:30 pm. All students will have a piece on display. All participants will have an opportunity to create in our Maker Station! There will be ice cream too! We are still looking for volunteers. If you would like to help, click on this link!

Thursday, April 3 was the final night of our second and third grade reading camp! Families gathered to play reading games and activities with their children. Thank you to Mrs. Allison, Miss Austin, Miss Barron, Mrs. Beam, Miss Ferguson, Mrs. Geesey, Miss Hughes, Mrs. Lippiatt, Mrs. Rau, Mrs. Ripley, Mrs. Taylor, and Mrs. Yeager for making this after school experience possible!

Orientation letters were sent home to our third grade families. Both North Hills and Sinking Springs have scheduled orientation for Wednesday, April 9 at 6:00 pm. This Parent Orientation is for our third grade families moving on to fourth grade for the 2025-2026 school year. This informational session is intended for parents. The children will participate in Move the Pride before the close of the school year. During Move the Pride, all third graders will have an opportunity to visit North Hills or Sinking Springs!

It's definitely that time of year for field trips! Today, our second graders are headed to the Appell Center for the Performing Arts for Stage the Page, a literacy and theater program. This year, our students will see The Stinky Cheese Man & Other Fairly Stupid Tales. Based on the book by Jon Scieszka and Lane Smith, this hilarious musical deconstructs the tradition of the fairy tale.

Next week, our first graders are headed to the Susan Byrnes Center for My Healthy Body! In this program, participants explore various aspects of the fascinating human body, including bones, muscles, and organs.

The Panera Fundraiser is scheduled for Monday, April 7 from 4:00 to 8:00 PM at 2801 East Market Street. Panera will donate 25 % of sales to our Hayshire PTO!

Mr. Metzler came to our school as a volunteer. We learned that he is an engineer. He works at the York Water Company. He showed us fun science! He taught us about sound waves and explained how gravity works!

This year, our third graders will take the ELA and Math PSSA. ELA will take place on April 23, 24, and 25. The Math portion will take place on April 29 and 30. On Thursday, PSSA letters were sent home with our third graders. Third graders and families are welcome to sign up to attend a fun and informative evening event on Wednesday, April 2 at 6 PM.

May Day is just around the corner. Mark your calendar for May 3 from 10:00 to 2:00 pm. This is a wonderful family event and Hayshire tradition! Our PTO will have games, raffles, face painting, book fair, and so much more! Please consider signing up to volunteer at May Day or donate an item. Click on the button below, May Day Volunteers.

Presale Tickets are available through Friday, April 25. The event tickets are 25 cents each. During the presale, for every 20 tickets you order for $5.00, you will receive an additional 4 free tickets. Tickets will be available for pick up at May Day at the ticket sales table. Kindergarten Registration is now open for the 2025/2026 school year. We are excited to welcome upcoming Kindergartner to our Panther Family. Per District Policy, students must be five years of age on or before August 31, 2025 to be enrolled for Kindergarten. Kindergarten Registration will take place at Hayshire Elementary on Monday, April 14 and Tuesday, April 15. You will select a 30 minute time slot. Your child should attend with you that day!
