Thank You to Our Lunch & Recess Heroes!
This and That
It is officially May and what a great time of year! The sun is shining, students are excited and full of energy, the days are longer, special end of year events are happening and STEAMapalooza is almost here! Be ready for a great night of student's showcasing their talents and interests. The book fair will also be open in the library and the annual 3rd grade concert will take place in the gymnasium. Please join us for this wonderful night that is all about our students.
Also, the weather has been warmer but not all days are as warm as we would like them to be. Please check the weather forecast and have students dress in layers since the mornings are cooler than the afternoons, on most days.
Thank you to the Plumb Library staff, the Post Office and our Police Officers for welcoming our kindergarten students into their spaces. Our kindergarten students had a great experience learning about the various services Rochester has to offer in the community.
Thank you to our custodial staff, lunch and recess monitors and of course, our cafeteria ladies who work so hard to prepare and serve lunch and breakfast to our students each day! We are grateful to all of you for your work and dedication to RMS!
This week is Teacher Appreciation Week and we are so fortunate to have an amazing team of educators at RMS. Please take time to thank anyone of our staff members for the work they do each day for the students of Rochester. Maybe send a note of thanks, students can make cards or even draw a picture. The love and support from our community is always amazing and we thank you!!

RMS Talent Show
Dear RMS Families,
We’re excited to announce the return of the RMS Talent Show! Last year, we had such an amazing time showcasing the incredible talents of our students, and we can’t wait to see what this year’s performers have in store!
The RMS Talent Show is a wonderful opportunity for our students to shine in a supportive, fun, and inclusive environment. Whether it’s singing, dancing, magic, comedy, or any other talent, we want to see the creativity and passion that makes RMS special! All RMS students are invited to participate, whether as a solo performer or as part of a group.
Here’s what you need to know:
Date of Performance: Thursday, May 22nd at 6:00 p.m.
Location: RMS Cafetorium
Audition Details:
All participants must sign up for auditions, which will be held during recess the week of May 5-9. Each act will be reviewed and approved by the RMS Student Ambassadors Advisors, Mrs. Cruz and Mrs. Pacheco.
How to Sign Up:
Please ensure your child’s digital or paper permission slip (attached below to print or available in the front office) is submitted by April 28th. No late sign-ups will be accepted after this date. Please notify us of any cancellations by Monday, May 12.
Performance Guidelines:
Each act should be approximately 2 minutes long. We ask that all participants perform only one act in the show. All acts should be appropriate for all grade levels and promote a fun and inclusive atmosphere.
We’re looking forward to another amazing RMS Talent Show, and we can’t wait to see the incredible talent, creativity, and hard work our students have put into their performances. This is sure to be a fun-filled evening for performers and families!
If you have any questions or need more information, please feel free to reach out to either of us. Let’s make this year’s RMS Talent Show unforgettable!
Excited to see our students shine,
Sharon Cruz & Jamie Pacheco
