Basswood Supports Students in Mexico
Dear Basswood Families,
For nearly 20 years, Basswood has been a partner in supporting the students in Sasabe, Mexico. Students in this boarder town are not able to register for school unless they can show they have school supplies for the upcoming year. We have opportunity to support these learners by donating to the School Supply Drive next week.
We have two fifth grade students that are leading this work at Basswood. Maren McLeod and Ethen Ready are our representatives this year. They have been meeting regularly to prepare for this service project and will travel to Arizona to personally deliver the purchased supplies to the students of Sasabe.
This is a great opportunity to teach all our Bulldogs to consider the needs of others. Students will be learning about this opportunity beginning Monday. Take some time this week to talk with your children about how they may want to help those in Sasabe. Watch for details in your children's take home folders.
With gratitude,
Steven Schwartz
Basswood Principal
