CASC Coach
2024-2025 Coach Agreement Bulletin
Welcome!
The San Luis Obispo County Office of Education is pleased to offer a comprehensive California Administrative Services Credential (CASC) program. The SLOCOE CASC program is a job-embedded, site-based, and accredited program that provides individualized coaching for recently hired school administrators seeking to clear their Preliminary Administrative Services Credential (PASC). Through the CASC program, SLOCOE creates opportunities to support, empower and equip new administrators to understand and embrace the challenges of educational leadership.
* The SLOCOE CASC program makes all program decisions without unlawful discrimination, including decisions regarding the admission, retention and/or program completion for all candidates.
General CASC Program Information
Criteria for Enrollment:
To enroll in the SLOCOE Clear Administrative Services Credential program (CASC), the candidate must possess a valid Preliminary Administrative Services Credential (or receive one within the first quarter of the school year), be hired as a administrator, and be willing and able to participate in the required Administrator Induction Program activities.
The SLOCOE Credentials Manager will review the credential(s) held by each new enrollee and will verify the participant's eligibility. Participants with additional requirements to clear their credentials will be contacted and provided with information regarding completion timelines.
Course and Fieldwork:
CASC is a two-year program. Together with a program coach, each candidate will develop and implement an Individualized Induction Plan (IIP) guided by the California Professional Standards for Educational Leaders (CPSEL) as well as the context of current administrative assignment and responsibilities. This experience is designed to promote an individualized professional growth opportunity that is built upon the nature and requirements of the candidate's current administrative assignment. During the course of the program, candidates are required to meet with their assigned coach for a total of 40-60 hours, participate in 20-30 hours of additional professional learning, and participate in monthly Cohort Team meetings.
Program Design:
Personalization and relevance continue to be of highest priority within the design of all CASC program experiences and opportunities. The program is flexibly designed to be delivered through a combination of online and in-person platforms based upon the purpose of each interaction.
Completion:
Program assignment reviews occur throughout the year through the online platform. Submissions are reviewed by SLOCOE Induction staff to assess for successful completion based on the requirements of the program. A candidate is eligible for a clear credential once the two-year CASC program is satisfactorily completed as well as the experience requirement for the Administrative Services Credential and any other outstanding credentialing requirements listed on the preliminary credential.
Program Fees:
Tuition - $2,500 per year
(Paid to SLOCOE by employing district or by participant)
Coach Stipend - $2,500 per year
