Big shoutout to Mr. Dave, our very first Star of the Week in the TK classroom! 🎉 He kicked things off by helping these little learners with the estimating jar—a fun and interactive way to sharpen those math skills.

Our Santa Rita TK students enjoyed acting out "The Three Little Pigs" while using the houses they built!

LETTER FROM THE PRINCIPAL
Dear Santa Rita Families,
This week, I’d like to highlight our Los Altos Educational Foundation and its support for the Los Altos School District's unique art docent program. Art docents have built an outstanding curriculum for art lessons at all elementary school grade levels. Students explore art through appreciation and participation. They have art opportunities from drawing, painting, collage, printmaking, sculpture, multimedia, digital media, and more. The Santa Rita Parent Teacher Association also supports the art docent program by funding the materials used.
If you too appreciate the art docent program, please donate to both the Santa Rita PTA and the Los Altos Educational Foundation.
On Thursday, we had a Growth Mindset Assembly with Dr. Blake Brandes! Thank you to our PTA for funding this wonderful assembly.
Thank you Santa Rita families for providing our staff with such delicious soups, salads and desserts. We had a wonderful meal together and very much appreciated all your efforts to make this special for our team. Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family!
Let’s Go, Bobcats!

Native American Heritage Month
If you are interested in some local activities celebrating Native American Heritage month, here is one opportunity from the California Academy of Sciences:
At the California Academy of Sciences, we are taking the time to celebrate the contributions and knowledge of Indigenous people of the Bay Area and throughout California.
During this month of recognition, we would like to highlight the work of the American Indian Cultural District of San Francisco (AICD) and the Amah Mutsun Land Trust (AMLT).
New Student Priority Registration Nov 8-Dec 20!
2024-25 Registrations are taken all year. Please see the registration steps below. Your SCHOOL YEAR registration will be counted as complete once all required paperwork is received.
2025-26 The New Student Priority Registration window is November 8 (8:00 a.m.) - December 20 (5:00 p.m.). School placement priorities for registrations submitted with all required paperwork during this timeframe are as follows:
Siblings of currently enrolled students will have first priority for attending the same school (there is no guarantee that an incoming sibling will be placed at the same school as currently enrolled siblings if registration is received after the priority registration window)
Students who live within their school of residence will have priority for attending their school of residence
If classes are full at the time of registration, the Registrar will assign (overflow) students to a school with available space. Overflowed students will be placed on a waitlist at their school of residence. If space becomes available before the start of the school year, overflowed students will have priority to return to their school of residence based on waitlist placement.
Registrations will continue to be taken after the New Student Priority Registration window. Registrations are considered complete once all required paperwork is received.
Thank you all for giving over $2M to LAEF this school year! We’re making good progress towards our goal of $2.9M. Your donations are already at work paying for teachers and staff. We made our first grant distribution of $1.25M to LASD in October.
Let’s finish the job! If you have yet to give this school year, now’s a great time. We still need to raise the final $835K to fully fund this school year. Help provide an excellent education to every student by making a tax-deductible contribution to LAEF. Gifts of any amount are appreciated and make a difference.
