Innovation Insights
Parent Teacher Conferences are coming up
Parent/Teacher Conferences are right around the corner; please follow the instructions below if you have not signed up yet. Teeso, the scheduling software, will be open until Friday, November 1st at 10:00 pm. If you need to change your time, or schedule something after the cutoff, please call the Meadowbrook office directly at 920-662-5000.
- Access TEESO at www.teeso.com/hssd/home
- Enter your username and password:
Username: Your primary email address that you provided us with at the beginning of the
year.
Password: hssd (case sensitive) or whatever you set it to for literacy assessments.
It is strongly suggested that once you are logged in, that you change your password for confidentiality purposes.
Choose a password that is familiar to you and that you will remember. Write down your password.
- Click on the “Log Me In” button
- Meadowbrook Elementary School. Make sure this box is checked (this step only applies if you have students in multiple schools using TEESO)
- Hover over the HSSD Conferences arrow to the left of the page and click on “Sign-up”
- Click on the teacher’s name. Make sure you are selecting the classroom teacher first before selecting other staff members. Scroll down to see a list of available dates and times. Decide which time and date works for you and click on the “Available”
- Once you take that date, you’re all set!
After you are done with scheduling conferences:
• Click on “View/Print Family Schedule” at the top of the page. This will give you confirmation
times and teacher’s name of all conferences that are scheduled
• Print this out for your reference
If you wish to change or cancel a conference prior to November 1, simply click on the current time and follow the on-line screen directions.
• Click on the time that you’re currently scheduled
Troubleshooting Tips
• If your email address doesn’t work, try your work or spouse’s email address
• If you do not have access to a computer (home, work or the public library), or if you do not have an e-mail address, please call the office at 920-662-5000 for assistance in setting up a conference.

Book Fair Volunteers needed
We will be having a Veterans Ceremony on November 11th at 8:50 am. Students will be bringing home an invitation that has a RSVP form on the bottom next week. Please consider inviting a veteran and help us honor those who have family that have or are serving in the military.
Members of the Military and Boy & Girl Scout members are encouraged to wear their uniforms.
Prior to the ceremony, veterans are invited to have coffee and donuts in the cafeteria starting at 8:20.
Thank you to those that have served our country and we hope to see you at our celebration!

A note from your School Board Representative
2019-2020 Howard-Suamico School District Budget
During our annual meeting last month, community members received a detailed review of the school district’s 2019-2020 budget and voted to adopt it as presented. During the meeting on October 21, the Board of Education approved a total tax levy of $28,248,522, which supports a district budget of $87,410,185 – a decrease of 2.17% as compared to the previous year.
This levy will result in the school’s portion of our property taxes remaining stable at $9.19; significantly below the state’s average levy. This budget, just as in year’s past, establishes that we continue to value innovation, investing in our staff, driving academic performance for every student.
Board members have engaged in continuous legislative advocacy efforts, specifically pertaining to the State’s biennium budget, which positively impacted the students of the Howard-Suamico School District.
The low revenue ceiling increase - a main focus of the Board’s advocacy efforts - especially for a low-spending district like ours, made a tangible impact. For the first time in over a decade, our District will see a net increase in our overall revenue limit. Our overall revenue limit has increased by just over $2,000,000. This is due to an adjustment to $9,700 per pupil for the lowest spending districts across the State coupled with our District’s first increase in resident students in over 5 years.

The Howard - Suamico School District partnering with local organizations features a Community Page that includes a list highlighting events for families in the villages of Howard, Suamico and Green Bay, i.e. scouting, festivals, parades, etc.

Bay Port DECA is hosting Pirates Kids Club this year, which is an opportunity for parents to get a night out and for kids to have a fully supervised evening at Bay Port High School filled with activities, games, pizza, and more! We are offering this on four different Friday evenings this year on Sept. 20th, October 18th, November 15th, and December 13th. We have check-in for children beginning at 4:30 p.m. in the Bay Port Commons. The Pirates Kids Club is from 5:00 - 8:00 pm with pizza included and the cost is $25/child with $5/each additional child. Join the Bay Port Tennis Club on Saturdays this winter! Whether you are brand new to the sport or have experience playing, joining the club will take your game to the next level! Players will learn the fundamentals of tennis, scoring and court etiquette. All instruction will take place at Four Seasons Tennis club and will be taught by tennis professionals.
