Hello NMS Families,
Dear Families,
It’s been a wonderful and festive week here at NMS as we celebrated our Holiday Spirit Week! The hallways have been filled with cheer as students and staff embraced the holiday spirit with themed outfits, activities, and decorations. We are so grateful for the joy and energy that our community brings to this special time of year.
Food Drive in Full Swing
Our annual Food Drive is well underway, and we’ve been amazed by the generosity of our students, families, and staff. Thank you to everyone who has contributed so far. At this point, grade 7 is in the lead! If you haven’t had the chance to donate yet, there’s still time! donations will continue to be accepted next week. Your contributions help make the season brighter for families in need.
Texas Roadhouse Fundraiser
Mark your calendars! Next Wednesday, December 18, our PTO is hosting a fundraiser at Texas Roadhouse in Nashua. When you dine in or take out and present the attached flyer, 10% of the profits will go directly to our PTO to support initiatives that benefit our students and school community. It’s a delicious way to give back—we hope to see you there!
Exciting Events Next Week
Next Wednesday, December 18, our seventh grade will take a field trip to see the play, A Christmas Carol. Additionally, high school performing arts students will be visiting NMS to perform their holiday concert for our students. On Thursday, we’ll hold our annual staff vs. eighth grade students volleyball game—always a highlight of the year! On Friday, December 20, our eighth graders will go on a trip to Boda Borg for a day of fun and team-building activities. We are looking forward to all the fun and excitement.
PTO Staff Luncheon – Donations Needed
Our amazing PTO is also hosting a luncheon for our staff next week to show their appreciation for all that our teachers and support staff do. To make this event a success, they are seeking donations of beverages and snack items. If you’re able to contribute, please follow the link for more details on how to help. Your support is greatly appreciated!
Wishing you all a happy and peaceful holiday season.
Warm regards,

CLASP Session 2
At Nissitissit Middle School we encourage our students to engage actively in our school community. One of the ways we do this is through a variety of after-school clubs designed to meet the diverse interests of our students.
The Children Learning After School Program (CLASP) offers engaging, once-a-week clubs that run for six weeks. Today, your child received a registration form for Session Two of CLASP.
This session includes a fantastic lineup of clubs, such as Manicure Club, Calming Crafts, Chess, Videography, Percy Jackson Club, and Harry Potter Club. With such a wide variety of options, we’re sure every student will find something they’ll enjoy!
Please note that spaces are limited, so we encourage you to send in your child’s completed registration form as soon as possible. We are thrilled to offer these enriching opportunities to our students and look forward to seeing them participate!

NMS Stuffs the Bus!
On Thursday, the North Middlesex Regional School District’s 'Stuff the Bus' food drive made a stop at Nissitissit Middle School, where we proudly collected 422.2 pounds of food to be donated to local food pantries, including PACH Outreach. Nissitissit’s drive continues until next Monday, so their final total is yet to be determined.
So far, our schools have collected and donated an impressive 2,082.2 pounds of food, with contributions from Ashby Elementary School and Nissitissit’s second round still to come.
Including public donations, we’ve reached a total of 2,483.26 pounds of food donated!
Our community drive wraps up this Saturday (the 14th) with donation stations set up at Hannaford from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and Baileys Bar & Grille from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m.
Baileys Bar & Grille has a fantastic offer—donate $10 (or more) to the drive and receive a $10 bonus card for Baileys Bar & Grille. It’s a win-win!
Neighbors helping neighbors—that’s what it’s all about!
Staff Book Recommendations
At NMS this year, one of our staff initiatives has been to read more young adult novels that resonate with our students. This not only helps us better understand their world but also sparks some great conversations between staff and students about the books they're both enjoying! We've put together some book recommendations for you—perfect additions to your holiday shopping list. Here are this week's recommendations.
Grade 8 Yearbook
Grade 8 Families:
The Yearbook Team needs your help to complete the yearbook.
BABY PICTURES
Baby pictures are due before January 3! You can now just upload your students' pictures directly to the site. Please label the picture with your student's full name as the name of the file. Each picture will be in the yearbook. Use this link! Yearbook Baby Picture
BUDDY PICTURES
The yearbook will be taking “Buddy Pictures” as a way to raise money to reduce the overall cost of the yearbook. If you want a buddy picture taken with your friends, please fill out the form located on Mrs. Larochelle’s bulletin board outside room 243. Return the form and money to Mrs. Larochelle by Friday, January 10. The cost is $1.00 per person per picture, and you may be in more than one picture. You will be notified with a time to have your picture taken.
PARENT MESSAGES
Please take this opportunity to personalize your child’s yearbook by including a special, brief message from yourself, grandparents, and/or siblings. The cost for each message is $5.00 that will help reduce the overall cost of the yearbook for the students. You can pay by cash or check, payable to Nissitissit Middle School. Message and money should be returned in an envelope labeled to Mrs. Larochelle. Last day for messages is January 10, 2025! DON’T WAIT! You can email the message to mlarochelle@nmrsd.org.
