Greetings, Viper Community!
As semester 1 at VMMS comes to a close, we encourage our Vipers to be reflective as they complete upcoming final assessments and projects. Prior to winter break, students reflected on their Student Led Conference goal and their progress. Please take a moment to check in with your Viper about their goal. Collectively, we expect that students are progressing and showing growth.
At VMMS, we utilize iReady in both ELA and Math to support students in practicing and remediating their content knowledge based on their levels of understanding. The winter diagnostic for iReady assessments will be administered in the upcoming week. Please encourage your Viper to do their personal best. Once the diagnostic is complete, many teachers will be conducting "data chats" with Vipers to track their progress from the Fall iReady Diagnostic #1 to the Winter iReady Diagnostic #2. Score reports will also be sent home.
Semester 1 report cards will be posted after January 22nd. They will be viewable on the AERIES parent portal and be sent to the listed primary home address.
We look forward to celebrating Viper student growth and will continue to provide support so all our Vipers can Engage, Achieve, Belong, & Design at VMMS!

The Secondary Magnet School Window opened January 8th and will close February 21st.
VMMS has begun 2025-2026 recruitment for incoming students. School tours and elementary school evening presentations will be taking place during the upcoming weeks. Please visit our school website for more information.
Our Viper 8th graders will be going on short field trips to tour VUSD High Schools (VHS, RBV, & MVHS). The counseling department and teachers will be working with 8th grade students and families to discuss the transition into high school. Please visit the VMMS counseling website for more information.
For all returning & current Vipers for the 2025-2026 school year, we will be sending the 2025-2026 VMMS Participation Agreement form in February. More information to follow.
The boys Viper Basketball season is underway! We look forward to their collective success this season. Come cheer our Vipers on in the upcoming games this week:
