Electives Expos Jan 7th, 9th &14th
Special Edition for Registration
Students and staff, for the third year, we are going to host Electives Expos during registration for 9-11 grade students.
THE WHY:
Gives students a deeper understanding of elective courses and how they connect to careers and post secondary options.
Informs students about stacking or grouping classes to support a career or career field.
Encourages exploration.
Allows students to ask questions.
Results in more purposeful elective course selection.
May help minimize the need for schedule changes.
Student ownership of high school experiences and opportunities.
The When, Where & How:
- January 7th: Electives Expo is open to 9th & 11th grade students. Attendance is capped at 120.
- January 9th: 916 Career & Tech Expo is open to 10th & 11th grade students. Attendance is capped at 120. Student ambassadors from 20 different programs will be here to inform you about the courses offered at 916 Career & Tech. Link to 916 Career & Tech newsletter
- January 14th: Electives Expo is open to 10th grade students. Attendance is capped at 120.
Where: Media Center
How: Students will sign up for the Elective and 916 Expos through Polar Place. Look for Mrs. Stanley's WIN Sessions.
A Note from Your Counselors
Students as you register for classes, go into Campus under the registration tool and whatever is entered is automatically saved. You can go in there until the deadline to make any changes. The deadline is Friday January 17th @3:00pm.
We will be attending the WIN Elective Expos in the Media Center to give students information and answer questions. Link to registration information
