Students go outside for recess if the windchill is above 10 degrees. As we are experiencing a great deal of change in weather please make sure that you send your child with a hat gloves and a warm coat. If it is snowing or we have snow on the ground students are required to have snow pants, boots, hats and gloves to go in the snow.

December 9-20th is the assessment widow for the Reading and Math diagnostic.

CCSD93 will be hosting a program called Be Seen and Heard©, a child sexual abuse prevention program for all students. It is designed to create an age-appropriate, safe and engaging environment where students will learn about the difference between safe and unsafe touch, the difference between safe and unsafe secrets and the importance of speaking up to trusted heroes and adults. This program is in its fourth year with CCSD93 and is designed to meet a state mandate called Erin’s Law, which Illinois and 37 other states have adopted to help combat child sexual abuse.

The Be Seen and Heard© program will be delivered to Heritage Lakes students during their school day on January 17, 2025

Please note the following important information:

• At 6:30 p.m. on Monday, December 16, parents are invited to attend a virtual information meeting to preview the concepts of the Be Seen and Heard© program prior to the schools holding the presentations. You will be emailed a Zoom link the afternoon of Monday, December 16 to use if you would like to attend the virtual meeting.

• For more information about Be Seen and Heard©, visit this webpage.

• To opt your child out of participating in the program, you must fill out this form by the evening prior to your child’s school events.
