MESSAGE FROM THE PRINCIPAL
Teacher of the Year!
Teacher of the Year honors are based upon nominations submitted by their peers. Everyone recognized the same positive traits that make 2nd Grade Teacher, Ms. Dech, a respected and valued member of our staff!

SWEETHEART DANCE
FEBRUARY 13
Students and their parents are invited to join us for our Sweetheart Dance on February 13th from 6-7:30 pm.
Students will not be admitted without a parent!
Please RSVP to the office no later than Feb. 12th.

THIRD QUARTER ELECTIVE SHOWCASE
MONDAY, FEBRUARY 24TH
Save the Date to see our talented students in action!
This event is free and open to all of our family, friends and neighbors!
The show starts at 6:30 pm!
We'll do a raffle drawing again with tickets given out to all the adult guests that arrive before the show starts. Drawing will take place at the conclusion of the show and you must be present to win.
BLACK HISTORY MONTH PRESENTATIONS ON FEB. 28TH
During Black History Month, our scholars will select someone that has made significant contributions to our society and research their life, career, significant facts, etc. They’ll design a poster board high- lighting what they learned. K-2 will do it as a class and grades 3-6 will do posters individually. Presentations will take place at the end of the month.
BLACK MYSTERY MONTH
How well do you know your Black History? Play along with us as we test your knowledge in a "Who am I?" challenge during Black MYSTERY Month! We'll post a new person each school day with our students and we'll also post it on our Facebook page for you to join in, too!

Your child’s teacher may send you a request to schedule a parent/ teacher conference about their academic performance. Please check your email, Class Dojo, and/or phone for messages.
NOTE: There is NO SCHOOL for all students on this day.

KINDERGARTEN DISCOVERY DAY
FRIDAY, MARCH 28TH FROM 9 AM - 12:30 PM
The first day of school can be overwhelming for a brand new Kindergarten student. We have developed a new, introductory program for kids and their grownups to help everyone feel confident and ready for success on Day 1! The day includes a bunch of fun activities for the kids, resources & tips for the adults, lunch and a goodie bag!

OUR HARVEST MARKET CAN HELP FEED YOUR FAMILY!
The Harvest Market School Pantry Program is now available for the Madison Avenue School of Arts’ community! The Harvest Market is designed to address child hunger with greater flexibility and choice. This program aims to provide emergency food assistance to children and families directly at Madison Avenue School of Arts. The School Pantry Program offers a more empowering choice model, ensuring families receive the support they need without having to leave the school environment. Our goal remains steadfast: to alleviate hunger and support the well-being of children across Northwest Ohio.
If you are interested in shopping at our Newly Opened Harvest Market, please contact the school for an appointment at 419-259-4000. Remember a visit to the Harvest Market is completely confidential and located within an area that is private in the school building.
VOLUNTEERS BUILD BEDS FOR KIDS
At Let’s Build Beds, they believe every child (ages 3-17) deserves to have a safe and comfortable place to sleep. Their volunteers deliver and help the child setup their new bedframe. It’s topped off with a new coil spring mattress, new sheets, comforter and pillow.

The Principal will also notify local TV Channels 11, 13, and 24 regarding the decision to close school or delay its opening. Madison Avenue School of Arts will be closed due to inclement weather whenever Toledo Public Schools are closed or as Madison Avenue School of Arts deems necessary.

SCHOOL HOURS: 8:45 am - 4:00 pm
Doors will open at 8:45 a.m.
Breakfast will be served from 8:45-9:10.
Students are marked tardy after 9:10 a.m.
Students arriving after 10:30 a.m. are marked absent for a half day.
Dismissal is at 4:00 p.m.
ATTENDANCE REMINDER
Missing school for any amount of time will have a negative impact on your scholar's learning, achievement and grades.
Please call 419-259-4000 if your scholar will be absent to let us know the reason for the absence. If it is illness related, we ask for a written note from your doctor.
HB 410 legislation requires ud to report chronic absenteeism and truancy to to courts. Our attendance goal to meet the state requirement is 95%.
