Week in Review....
Last week was a busy week! We had an art Connected North session with Heather on Tuesday and students created a wonderful piece of art.
On Wednesday, students engaged in a National Child Day celebration where they learned about the rights of children in Canada. Among the many guest speakers was our Prime Minster Justin Trudeau! In addition to the above Linda came to support fiddling on Wednesday and Thursday!
Also, on Wednesday our Occupational Therapist and Speech and Language Pathologist spent time at our Band Office and in the school. They've selected some students to support. Consent forms were sent home on Friday. Can you please send the signed forms to the school by Monday or Tuesday? Consent forms will be handed to Wendy our Inclusive School Coordinator/RISC on Tuesday.
Students have started writing the play. We have one page typed already and the setting is Kakisa. We will be working with Sara De Waard to develop our play at some later time. We had scheduled her for Monday this week but an opportunity came along that we couldn't say no to so that sessions is postponed and I will continue working with the students on this writing project for a while till we are able to book time with her again.
Margret baked some bannock on Friday and we all enjoy the lovely bannock. All in all it was a very good week!
This Week...
This week is a very exciting week for us!! Bev and her husband will be in town Monday night and our week long Rite of Passage Week starts on Tuesday. Many events and activities and guest speakers are planned for this very important week! We will be welcoming Cheryl Cli and Wendy Douchette to our school on Tuesday, too. They will stay for the day.
In addition to our Rite of Passage Week we have the National Ballet coming to engage us in dance on Monday from 10-11 AM. Linda will also be around in the morning and will spend time helping students learn their fiddling songs.
This year for the Christmas concert each student including Lexi will be showcasing their individual fiddling skills when they perform solo. In addition to that dancing, a group fiddling song, two plays, and carols have been selected for this year's Christmas Concert. It should be a magical time. I hope you can make it to the performance!
