Siegrist School Counseling Program Recognized!
We are proud to share with our school community that our Siegrist School Counseling Program is being recognized for the state NRM and national RAMP award. The Dr. Norman C. Gysbers Nationally Recognized Missouri Program (NRM), pronounced “The Norm”, is the national recognition award that Missouri school counseling programs may earn. Achieving this award not only garners state recognition but also national recognition as a RAMP (Recognized ASCA Model Program) Award through the American School Counselor Association. The award is for individual schools whose school counseling programs have reached a level of implementation that emphasizes the positive impact of the school counseling program on student success and the school community.
2024-2025 Counseling Program Goals:
Siegrist Counselors set annual goals for their program, based on school data. This year's goals are the following:
Improving student attendance; (attendance ranging from 80-89%), from 13 students (23-24 school year) to 6 students as of May 1, 2025 using MSIP 6 attendance data.
Increase the number of students who indicated they feel “cared for”on the MRA 23-24 student survey from 4% in the “not at all category” to 0% in the “not at all” category.
Counseling program goals support both building school improvement plans (BSIP) and our school district’s comprehensive school improvement plans (CSIP) for helping students improve attendance and know that school is a safe and caring place for ALL students.

Siegrist Literary Pumpkin Project
The Siegrist Library is inviting you to participate in our optional Literary Pumpkin Project. Siegrist families may create a pumpkin and send it to school to be displayed in the library. It is easiest if the pumpkins are a size that the students can carry into the school and carry home themselves (fake pumpkins are very lightweight)!
How to participate:
Decorate a pumpkin or gourd to look like a children’s storybook character or represent a book. Fake pumpkins/gourds are a great choice because they are lightweight and do not rot.
Bring your decorated pumpkin to the Siegrist Library during the week of Monday, Oct. 7, 2024. Pumpkins will be on display in the Siegrist Library through Friday, October 18, 2024.
Don’t forget to take your pumpkin home on October 18. If a pumpkin begins to rot before it is picked up, it will have to be discarded. All real pumpkins/gourds that have not been picked up will be discarded on Monday, Oct. 21, 2024 so that PTA volunteers can have space to set up for our Scholastic Book Fair.
If you want some inspiration, go to Google and search for images of literary pumpkins.
Questions? Contact Mrs. Neal at: neal.dana@pcr3schools.org.
Why you should participate:
It builds school spirit!
Kids will love seeing all the creations!
You might get introduced to a new book!
It's that time of year again to be thinking about Trunk or Treat! We are in need of some hosted trunks!!! If you, your family, your friends, or your team would like to host a trunk, please click the link below. We are also looking for donations! If any of your students bring in donations, have them bring them to the office or you may order through our Amazon link and it will be mailed directly to the school.
Help Make Our Book Fair a Success!
PTA needs your support to make this year’s book fair an amazing event for our Siegrist students! Please consider volunteering your time by using the QR code or click on button below to register for a date and time. The book fair wouldn't be possible without the generosity of our wonderful families.

Thank you for helping us make this a special event for our students!
Pull Together!
Dear Platte County Families,
It's time to "pull" together for a great cause! The Siegrist Student Lighthouse team is collecting pop tabs donations to support the Kansas City Ronald McDonald House. We invite you to collect aluminum tabs from any cans, place them in a ziplock bag, and send them to school with your child.
Our students will handle the rest!
We appreciate your support as we work towards our goal of collecting 100 pounds of pop tabs by the end of May. Let’s pull together and make a difference for families in need!
Thank you for your generosity!

PTA - We Need Your Help in the Siegrist Workroom!
First off, THANK YOU! We couldn’t make this program work without YOU!
One of the goals of PTA is to support our amazing teachers by helping with copying, printing, laminating, cutting, and assisting with projects. We’ve set up a simple process to make it easy for you to help:
- There will be a bin in the workroom where teachers will place their papers/projects with clear instructions on what they need and when they need it by.
- Once you’ve completed a project, please place the finished materials in the teacher’s mailbox.
If you’re available to volunteer, the Siegrist PTA has created a Sign-Up Genius for workroom help. We offer 3 slots per day, with options for both morning and afternoon shifts. You can choose to volunteer once or twice a week, or as your schedule allows—every little bit helps!
We truly appreciate your time and support. If you have any questions, feel free to email us at siegristelementarypta@gmail.com.
Thank you again for your dedication!

Friendly Parent Reminders
Visitors to the building: you will always need to bring your ID with you when you come into the building. We will scan your ID into our safety system Platte County uses to ensure the safety and security of our students.
Birthday Celebrations-Here is the district policy:
"We believe it is important for the school to recognize our students on their birthday and other special days. However, for several reasons including increased food allergies, preservation of the instructional day, and student equality, students are not allowed to bring treats from home or have flowers/balloons or other items delivered to the classroom for birthdays, going-away parties, or other personal events. Each classroom teacher will recognize the student in a special way to celebrate his or her birthday. (See Snacks for more information about opportunities to share snacks in the classroom) If a student receives a delivery at school, the student will be notified to come to the office to view the item. Parents will be responsible for transporting the item home. Birthday party invitations may only be distributed if invitations are given to every student in the class."
Transportation:
If your child has a transportation change for the day, please call the office before 2:00 PM. This ensures we can process the change in time before dismissal. You may also send a note with your child or email Anne Klopp at klopp.annemaire@pcr3schools.org.
If we do not receive a call, note, or email regarding transportation changes, we will follow the information already in our system to send your child home.
For any permanent transportation changes, please refer to the "Important Links" section below.
Additionally, please click on the "Transportation Expectations" button below to review important bus and car rider guidelines with your child.
Student Illness/Injury:
If you're unsure whether to send your child to school due to illness, please click the button below. Our nurse has provided important information on her Siegrist webpage about when to keep a sick child at home. There is also guidance on what happens if your child is injured while at school.
If you have any questions, please feel free to email Heather Guzman at guzman.heather@pcr3schools.org.
