Student Instructions & Attendance for Asynchronous Independent Learning Days
· Student attendance for Friday, January 10, will be based on evidence of completion and submission of learning tasks. To be marked present according to RCPS Board Policy JB Student Attendance, students must complete and submit assignment(s) for each scheduled class period by Monday, January 13, at11:59 pm.
· It’s important to note that student work not submitted by January 13, 2025, at 11:59 pm may result in a reduction in the student’s grade. This policy is in place to encourage students to take their independent learning days seriously and to ensure they keep up with their assignments and learning progress.
· Any family that is experiencing power outages or other safety concerns that may prevent a student from completing their work by the Monday, January 13th should reach out to their teacher and copy their counselor (when it is safe to do so).
· If a student has any technical difficulty:
o ask the teacher for guidance via email and/or Canvas message
o students/parents can review the help documents in ClassLink’s Tech Help folder with an icon that says, “Student Tech Help.”
o visit website: Parent Technology Support - Rockdale County Public Schools (rockdaleschools.org).
o call 770-860-4259 and leave a detailed message; a technology staff member will return their call.

Science & Engineering Fair Judges Needed- Help us recruit STEM professionals
We are excited to announce the 15th annual Rockdale Regional Science & Engineering Fair, showcasing middle and high school projects on Friday, January 24, 2025. Students from public, private, and home schools in Rockdale County will present their research in 22 categories across science, engineering, technology, and mathematics.
We need parent/guardian help to recruit judges. We need of over 100 volunteers to serve as judges for this important event. Judging can preview projects online on Friday, January 17, 2025, and will have the opportunity to interview students in-person on Friday, January 24th.
If you have a STEM background and are interested in volunteering, please sign-up at the link below (parents of RMSST students will not be assigned their own student's project to review should your student be competing). Also, please share this link with any STEM professionals in your network who may like to serve.

Last chance! Our annual 2 question Semester 1 feedback survey closes today January 10th!
Like last year, ALL parents/family members, students, staff, alumni, and stakeholders are asked to please help us at Magnet by answering the two question survey at https://forms.office.com/r/nBFCrqVTw4 as we reflect on first semester and work to reach our school's vision of preparing global STEM leaders of accelerated change. While there is much to celebrate, we recognize that continuous improvement is always essential to make that vision a reality. Your responses will be compiled and shared at an upcoming staff meeting focused on our School Improvement Goals.
All responses need to be submitted by Friday, January 10th for inclusion at that meeting.
As always, if you have an individual concern or something that is time sensitive, please reach out to Mrs. Baskett directly or refer to our "Who to Contact" list at FAQ's - https://magnet.rockdaleschools.org/cms/one.aspx?portalid=139968&pageid=45154824 for the right person for different types of questions.
