Leadership Message
Dear St. Luke Families,
As we continue our journey through this blessed Easter season, we powerfully see God's joy shining through our students. It brings a smile to my heart to see our students actively engaged in learning and enjoying the beautiful outdoors, especially now that the spring weather has finally arrived. It's also inspiring to see so many of our grade 6-8 students participate on our school badminton team. As two full teams, while many schools are only fielding one team, they come together to represent the small, yet mighty, St. Luke's school community as they play against other school communities. We are very proud of their dedication and effort to represent our wonderful school. At St. Luke's, we always strive to create an environment where everyone feels valued, respected, and empowered to reach their full potential.
We continue to encourage all our students to approach each day with enthusiasm, positivity, and a commitment to excellence as we work to create a positive difference in the lives of those around us and in the world at large.
Have a blessed weekend and thank you for entrusting your wonderful children to our care.

New Technology Fee for the 2024-2025 School Year
EICS is proposing a new technology fee for students in Grades K through 12 to help cover the increasing costs of providing technology resources. This new fee will replace the K-3 technology fee of $20.00. The proposed fee will be $30.00 per student and will fund various hardware and software needs, such as Chromebooks, Adobe and Microsoft licenses, career guidance software, accessibility software, specialty math software, library software, and other licenses determined by school administration. However, the fee will not be used for network or technology infrastructure costs or staff devices or software.
If you have any questions about either of these fees, please call the school 780-922-5920.

GrACE Contest - OPEN TO ALL STUDENTS
All EICS students are invited to participate in this year's Annual GrACE Contest in Partnership with the REAL Foundation. 2023-2024 Theme: Go Light Our World, “Let your light shine before others that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.” Matthew 5:16
GrACE exists to inspire, invigorate and embolden the spirit of Catholic education in order to unite, engage, educate and communicate with one voice on its behalf. GrACE, in partnership with the REAL Foundation, is happy to present this contest to EICS students. This is our sixth annual GrACE Contest: A Celebration of Catholic Education.
We invite EICS students of all grade levels to submit work reflecting the importance of, and their experience with or contribution to Catholic education. This year our theme is Go Light Our World. Entries need to reflect this theme. It is often helpful if students include a few sentences to go with their entry on how it is connected to this year’s theme.
Student Submissions could include such things as (but not limited to):
A work of art
A poster
A formal or informal essay
Original music
Poetry
A presentation (video or otherwise) of social justice work

Prayer Labyrinth
Our students got to experience the Prayer Labyrinth this week!!
A Prayer Labyrinth is a labyrinth used to facilitate prayer, meditation, spiritual transformation, and/or global unity. The most famous Prayer Labyrinths today include an ancient one in the Cathedral of Chartres, France, another in the Cathedral of Duomo di Siena, Tuscany; and two maintained by Grace Cathedral, an Episcopal church in San Francisco.
We had a wonderful visit from Fr. Mario this week

We are Stronger Together - Lenten Campaign
This Lent EICS is continuing to partner with Catholic Social Services to support Refugees and Newcomers.
Every day Catholic Social Services is called upon to support women, men and children coming from countries such as Syria, Dominican Republic of Congo, Ukraine, Afghanistan, Sudan, Somalia, Eritrea, Venezuela, Honduras…. who have fled their country of origin in search of safety and the opportunity to rebuild their lives.
Presently CSS provides settlement support to clients in need of emergency accommodation. Many are arriving with few personal items and limited financial means.
Donations made to this Lenten Campaign will go towards Catholic Social Services, Refugees and Newcomers Fund which helps CSS respond to the urgent needs of these clients, and allows us to provide food, clothing, school supplies and accommodations for the refugees who need it most.
Library News
Thank you to everyone who stopped by the book fair before spring break. It was a huge success, and so much fun! Because of all your generosity , we were able to take $1,386.35 worth of product from the book fair, for our library at St. Luke! That's amazing!! There are a lot of new and exciting books that all our students and staff will get to read and enjoy!
Your support for our school library is greatly appreciated!!
