January's Homebound Highlight
Celesete Critselous
Celeste Critselous is the heart of Knox County Schools’ Homebound department. Celeste is in her 32nd year of teaching, with the last 19 of those nurturing and teaching our homebound students. She served her first 16 years teaching at Powell Middle, Inskip Elementary, and Gresham Middle.
Celeste’s dedication to ensuring her homebound students receive exceptional instruction and personal attention is unparalleled. She goes beyond to bring joy to her students and their families, by planning a special field trip, doing a family photo shoot, or by bringing her student something special on those difficult days. Her approach to education is a perfect mix of teaching and love. Celeste also brings this dedication to our homebound department. Just like with her students, she gives all she has to make everyone feel valued and loved.
Outside of teaching, Celeste loves to spend time with her husband Gary, son Alex, step-daughters Chelsea and Ashleigh, grandsons Kingston and Jaiden, and dog Harley. Celeste enjoys crafting, swimming in her pool, and attending church.
Thank you, Celeste, for all of your years of service, and for giving your whole heart to students each day.
