APRIL 3, 2024 - NEWSLETTER
Hello Northpoint Families!
April is here and there are a lot of exciting things happening around Northpoint. In your classroom newsletter, you should have seen an invitation to join your child in music class on the Thursday of the week they have music. Ms. Roettger-Limp is calling this a “informance,” an informal performance. Students get to show family members what they have been learning in music without the pressure of a full performance. Be sure to wear comfortable clothes so you can join right in the fun. She really gets the students moving for the hour they are in there.
Other things that will be coming up during the spring are field trips, 4th grade track and field day, the Northpoint Carnival and Art Adventure. We’ll also host Kindergarten in Action to welcome our newest learners.
There are also some “not so fun” but still important things happening in the spring. Students will be taking a variety of assessments, including the Minnesota Comprehensive Assessment (MCA) and Measures of Academic Progress (MAP). I will put more information in the newsletter as we get closer to these assessments. Teachers will also have important information in their weekly classroom newsletters.
Fun things aren’t just happening at Northpoint, they are happening all around the district. The high school spring musical, “Beauty and the Beast” opens Friday, April 19, and the Live on 65 performance series wraps up May 13 with a one-of-a-kind performance from B2wins. You can get your tickets online now for those performances.
Finally, we had our last Possip pulse check last week, and we got the results early this week. A few themes that were present included feedback on report cards, teacher communication (both really positive comments and a few comments that will help us grow) and appreciation for the variety of fun, engaging learning and activities that have been happening around the school.
As always, we take feedback as opportunities to continue to grow and improve as a school community. We appreciate you taking the time to share your thoughts!
Have a wonderful week!

COVID-19 guidance update
The Minnesota Department of Health has updated their guidance regarding COVID-19 isolation to match current CDC isolation guidance. Individuals with respiratory illness symptoms (including fever, chills, fatigue, cough, runny nose, and headache), should stay home and consider testing for a respiratory illness (such as influenza, Covid-19, and RSV).
Individuals who test positive for a respiratory illness should stay home and away from others until:
You can go back to your normal activities when, for at least 24 hours, both are true:
- Your symptoms are getting better overall, and
- You have not had a fever (and are not using fever-reducing medication).
Morning Arrival Reminders
For walk-up and drive-up, students may be dropped off starting at 9 a.m. once a Northpoint staff is present outside and the 9 a.m. bell has rung. Please do not drop students off prior to this time due to safety reasons.
If your student will be arriving after 9:20 a.m., you must park and walk your student into school and provide a reason for the late arrival. For safety reasons, students must not be dropped off outside without adult supervision.
