Loving God,
Loving and gracious God, as we enter this season of Lent, we come before You with open hearts, ready to reflect on our lives and seek a deeper connection with You. Help us to embrace this time of prayer, fasting, and almsgiving, so that we may grow in faith, compassion, and humility.
In this season of renewal, guide us to examine our actions, our relationships, and the way we live our lives. Give us the strength to turn away from distractions and focus on what truly matters—living according to Your will and serving others with love and kindness.
May this Lenten journey deepen our sense of gratitude, help us recognize the needs of those around us, and remind us of Your boundless mercy and love. We ask for Your guidance as we strive to become more faithful and compassionate disciples.
Bless our families, our school, and our community as we walk together through this holy season.
In Your name, we pray.
Amen

Embracing Lent: A Time for Reflection and Renewal
As Lent begins today, we are invited to take time for reflection—considering our lives and how we strive to be positive role models within our families and community. It is a season of renewal, calling us to live with compassion, kindness, and a deeper sense of faith. Let us embrace this time to grow closer to one another, strengthen our relationships, and deepen our commitment to the values we hold dear.
Year Six Camp
I am delighted to be heading off today with Mrs Mac, Mrs Lanigan, Mr Potito, and Mrs B on the Year 6 camp. A huge thank you to Mrs Mac for the incredible time and effort she has dedicated to planning this wonderful experience for our students.
Over the next few days, our Year 6 students will have the opportunity to bond, face challenges, and build resilience and leadership skills—important qualities as they step into their final year of primary school. We are incredibly proud of them and look forward to sharing this special time together.
Our Election Day Fundraiser THIS WEEKEND!
Thanks to the wonderful organisation of our P&F, we are thrilled to see our community coming together to cook and help out at the Election Day sausage sizzle and cake stall. I’ve heard this is the best election day fundraiser in WA, and I’m looking forward to coming down on Saturday to show my support!
If you haven’t yet had the chance to volunteer and have some time to spare, we would greatly appreciate your help—whether it’s baking, preparing, or assisting on the day. All funds raised will go towards our new adventure playground, so every contribution makes a difference. Thank you for your support!
Please see the LINK to volunteer on the day:
Grateful Thanks
We are grateful to have two generous sponsors for our Election Day sausage sizzle! A huge thank you to Peake Plumbing (special thanks to Lauren and Dan) and the Di Girolamo family for kindly sharing the cost. Your support is truly appreciated. All proceeds will contribute to our exciting new adventure playground!
HARMONY WEEK- WEEK 7
The school will be celebrating Harmony Week from Monday 17th March, with activities to honour and celebrate Australia's rich cultural diversity. We encourage all students to wear something orange on Friday, 21st March, to mark this special occasion and show their support for inclusivity and unity.
Networking Professional Learning
Our staff recently participated in a networking professional development session alongside the staff from St Gerard’s, Our Lady of Lourdes and St Lawrence. This was a fantastic opportunity to collaborate, share knowledge, and learn from one another within our single-stream school network. These connections strengthen our teaching practices and enrich the learning experience for our students.
CEWA Leaders' Forum
Next Monday, 11 March, Casey, Eugene, and I will be attending the CEWA Leaders' Forum. This is a valuable opportunity for Catholic Education leadership teams from across the state—from Albany to Wyndham—to come together and work collectively on CEWA priorities.
The forum provides a vital space for Catholic school and office leaders to reflect on the strategic direction of Catholic education within the broader educational landscape of Western Australia. We look forward to a day filled with learning, dialogue, and collaboration as we continue to strengthen our schools and communities.
Sundowner Community Feedback
It was wonderful to see so many students and families at our annual Sundowner event. This gathering provides a fantastic opportunity for us to connect as a community.
To help us with future planning, we are seeking feedback and invite one member from each family to complete a short form. 22 families have responded so far. Your insights will help ensure the continued success of this cherished event. Thank you for your time and support!
St Denis Swimming Carnival
The annual St Denis Swimming Carnival for students in Years 4, 5, and 6 will take place on Wednesday, 12th March, at Bold Park Aquatic Centre, Floreat.
- Event Time: 11:00 AM – 2:00 PM
- Bus Departure: 10:30 AM sharp from school.
More information can be found on the notes sent home via Seesaw. A big thank you to Leone for organising this exciting event for us!
NAPLAN Commences 12th March for Years 3 and 5
NAPLAN (National Assessment Program – Literacy and Numeracy) will commence on 12th March for students in Years 3 and 5. NAPLAN is a nationwide assessment that tests students' skills in key areas such as reading, writing, language conventions (spelling, grammar, and punctuation), and numeracy. It provides data on student progress and used alongside our school assessment schedule helps guide teaching strategies to support ongoing learning. While NAPLAN results are important for tracking educational development, it is important to remember that it is just one part of a broader picture of student achievement. If you have further questions regarding NAPLAN, please reach out to classroom teachers.
Wishing our beautiful school community a wonderful upcoming fortnight
Warm regards,
Sarah Potts
