Dear Riverview Families,
This week we have a rollercoaster in the weather department! We start the week with some beautiful fall temperatures, and we end the week with some above temps. Please make sure to start dressing your child accordingly!
This Wednesday October 9 it's our Walk, Bike, and Roll to School Day! These days are a great way for schools to celebrate and encourage walking and biking to school. Please look at the flyer for more information English / Spanish!
Thank you for all of those that ate at Chipotle last week, we were able to fundraise $166 dls!
- Students from Kinder and 2nd grade, will be taking a Cognitive Ability Test (CogAT), this is one measure to identify students as advanced learners/gifted and talented in SPPS. If you do not wish for your student to take this test, please contact me at stivaliss.licona-gervich@spps.org. Official Letter Eng, Span.
- Students from 3rd through 5th grade will participate in a climate survey this fall, the survey is anonymous and should take no more than 10-15 minutes to complete. The information collected from this survey will be used to identify how students feel at their school. We use the results to improve the school so that all students feel safe and that they belong. If you do NOT want your student to participate in this survey, please contact Mr. Woods at reginald.woods@spps.org before 10/18/23. Official Letter. School climate Survey
If you are planning on being a volunteer or a chaperone this school year, please contact Ms. Angelica at 651-293-8665, to get the process started. It is important to know that if you are planning on being a chaperone you must sign an acknowledgement form with the description of your assignment.
Sincerely,
Ms. Stivaliss

Extended Day Learning (Before School Programming): Our EDL program is scheduled to run Monday through Thursdays from 8:00 AM to 9:15AM, starting October 21st. Due to district wide budget cuts, transportation is not available, so you need to provide your own transportation. In order for Riverview to be able to open EDL we must have at least 25 students in each class AND attending each day. As of right now, here are the classes we are planning to have:
- Thinking patterns K-1
- GTCYS (Greater Twin Cities Youth Symphonies) 2nd-5th
- Lego League 3rd-5th
- Project Scientist- 2nd-5th
Unfortunately we do not have programing for Pre-K.
Our programs only happen if we have enough students enrolled in the program. Here is the form to enroll!
