From the Principal's Desk
Dear Adler Park Families,
February is always a time of love and connection at Adler, and we are excited to continue spreading kindness throughout our school community! We are inviting all students to join us for our 2nd annual "Spread the Love" event, where students will create positive affirmations to uplift and inspire one another.
Each student is encouraged to create 5-10 affirmation cards when they visit the library (see example below). These messages will be placed around the building in grab-and-go bags, available for anyone who needs a little encouragement or a reminder that they are truly valued. Thank you for helping us make Adler a place filled with kindness, support, and positivity!

Did You Know?
Did you know that every time you donate clothes and shoes to the bins outside Adler Park School, our school receives a check from the USAgain company twice a month? Your donations not only help the environment but also support our school. Please consider using the bin whenever you have items to give!
Dental Form Reminder
Dear 2nd Grade Families,
Please send in a Dental Exam Form for your current 2nd Grader. Many dental offices can generate the form for their patients, but if you need a blank copy to provide to your dentist, please contact me.
Thank you to those who have already turned the form in!
Stay healthy!

February SEL Update
In February, students will wrap up their third unit on empathy and kindness, focusing on understanding others’ perspectives and showing compassion through thoughtful actions. They’ll apply what they’ve learned by practicing kind acts and exploring how empathy can make a positive impact in their school community.
Kindergarten- By the end of the month, your child will learn and demonstrate ways to show kindness at school, share ideas for kind acts, and draw themselves performing a kind act to help others feel good.
1st Grade- This month, your child will practice and demonstrate kindness by role-playing kind acts in different scenarios and contexts.
2nd Grade- Throughout the month, your child will use empathy to identify and plan kind acts they can do for others in their school community. This week, they’ll focus on selecting someone specific and thinking of a meaningful way to show kindness.
3rd Grade- By the end of the month, your child will be able to use empathy to understand how others are feeling and identify ways to help. This week, they’ll practice asking thoughtful questions and plan kind acts for someone they care about.
4th Grade- This month, your child will develop skills to understand others’ perspectives and how that understanding can influence their actions. This week, they’ll practice asking questions to gain insight into someone’s point of view, even in situations where empathy is more challenging.
5th Grade- By the end of the month, your child will be able to evaluate solutions to community problems by considering different perspectives. This week, they’ll choose a solution to a school community issue and explain how it addresses the needs and wants of those affected.
