Our Wildcats were able to give a warm Wildcat welcome to our new Wildcats for next year. Our new incoming 6th and 7th graders came to visit and receive a tour by our amazing ASB students. We will be hosting them again at our New Student Bootcamp on Tuesday, June 11 starting at 1:00 pm!
7th grade parents: California Healthy Youth Act
On Monday, May 13, Sullivan's 7th graders will start our Positive Prevention Curriculum in their science classes. The instruction will be from May 13 until May 24. Positive Prevention is the curriculum Bonsall Unified School District has adopted to meet the California Healthy Youth Act requirements.
Your student will bring home a copy of the information below, and we will send out multiple Aeries notifications.
You may opt your student out of this instruction. If you wish to opt your student out of this instruction, please complete the Google Form with your request that your student be opted out of the instruction no later than Thursday, May 9, 2024. This will allow us enough time to secure a substitute teacher per the number of students who are opting out of the instruction. Your student's name will be on our master list but please make sure to also tell your student you are opting them out of this instruction.
Click here to fill out the OPT OUT SURVEY: https://forms.gle/Fsg74yY15X744WnK9
Students opting out of instruction will be completing an alternative science assignment in a separate classroom setting during this timeframe of May 13 to May 24.
Below is a copy of what was sent home regarding the instruction and the California Healthy Youth Act.
Please call or email with any questions you may have.
Thank you for your attention to this.

Spring School Climate Survey
Wildcat Families:
We are looking for feedback to help improve your school experience! We thank you and your family for being our valued partners as we work together to educate the children in our district. Over the next several weeks, we will be asking for students in grades 3-12 to reflect on their school experience and on their own mindsets and approaches to learning via an online questionnaire they will be completing at school. The questionnaire shouldn’t take more than 20 minutes to complete.
The questionnaire will ask students to self-reflect on Student Competency and Well-Being Measures (such as growth mindset and self-efficacy) and on Student Supports and Environment (such as school safety, sense of belonging, and school climate). The questions can be previewed here:
Students Grades 3-5: English here or in Spanish here.
Students Grades 6-12: English here or in Spanish here.
We are asking that all of our students participate, as their responses will provide invaluable insights into their experiences and how we can improve and adapt our district to their needs. If a student doesn’t feel like they have enough information to answer a question, they will be able to skip the item altogether. The responses to the individual questions will be completely confidential. If you would like your student to opt out of taking this questionnaire, please complete this Google Form by Sunday, May 19th.
In addition, we are asking that our parents/guardians respond to questions about their experiences and perceptions of their child’s school. Your participation is completely confidential and anonymous, which means that no one at your school will ever see your individual responses. Please take your time to give honest and thoughtful answers.
You may use a computer, tablet, or smartphone to access the questions.
Please click the following link and enter the access code for your child's school: The questionnaire will be open from May 21-31st.

STATE TESTING
Hello parents!
We are fast approaching our state testing for the 23-24 school year. The CAASPP ( California Assessment of Student Performance) is important because it is used as an indicator and measurement of ability not just by BUSD but Universities and other colleges. Students will be asked to participate in this assessment every year from grades 3 to 8 and then students will be asked to take the assessment again in 11 grade.
The teachers and students have been working hard all year learning the state standards within each subject area. The students have also been working especially hard these last few weeks of the year. A few teachers have send reminder emails to inform parents about our state testing coming up in the next few weeks.
I have put the dates and subjects that will be testing in the upcoming days. I have also included a link to general information about the CAASPP testing to help answer any general questions you may have. If you have any questions please call the office or send me an email.
Parents we will need your help during these times to make sure the students are:
- Charging their Chromebooks and brining their chargers.
- Good night sleep.
- Please talk with them about keeping their cell phones off and in their backpack or cell phone holder in the classroom, especially during the state testing window.
- Encourage them to do their best!
Thank you always parents for your support!
