WFBMS Thursday Folder
May 16, 2024
Hello!
Next week, we are partnering with the Whitefish Bay Police Department to hold a Bike Safety Assembly. As the weather has turned warmer, the number of students riding bikes to school has skyrocketed. This is great! We want to ensure that our biking students arrive to school and get home safely.
Our 6th and 7th graders will participate in the assembly on Tuesday, and our 8th graders will do so on Thursday. Especially if your child is a biker rider, I would encourage you to ask them about the presentation when they get home. Ask them about what they remember. Was there something that really stood out to them? When they bike to school, do they ever encounter dangerous circumstances (an uncontrolled intersection, inattentive drivers, etc.)? How do they navigate those types of situations?
Working together, we can ensure that our kids remain safe on the roads!

Whitefish Bay High School Theater Presents
William Shakespeare’s
Much Ado About Nothing
One of Shakespeare’s most frequently performed comedies, Much Ado About Nothing revolves around two couples — witty Beatrice and Benedick, who publicly proclaim their disdain for each other but fall madly in love; and naïve Hero and Claudio, who fall quickly in love only to be thwarted and then reunited (in both cases, with a bit of help from their friends). But it’s more than just a comedic romp. The play tackles serious themes too: trust and betrayal, power and privilege, gendered expectations around chastity and violence. This is a comedy entangled with a tragedy, where love and justice nevertheless manage to prevail with vigorous joy — a perfect play for our uncertain times.
Come join us for this production that will both fill you with joy and invite you to explore its complex themes long after the curtain has closed!
When: 7:00 on May 17th and 18th & 2:00 on May 19th
Where: Whitefish Bay High School Auditorium
Tickets: $15 for Adults, $10 for Seniors, & $5 for Students
