The Terrapin Times #16
A Leader in Me School - November 15, 2024
Dear Families,
Next week is Parent Teacher Conference week at Turtleback. Our schedule for the week will be Monday - no school for students, Tuesday-Thursday - early release at 11:55, and Friday - regular schedule dismissing at 1:45. Teachers look forward to meeting with parents/guardians to share and celebrate student progress. Synergy ParentVUE online access to progress reports will be available Wednesday, December 4th at 5:00 pm. Click on these links - English Spanish - to access progress reports in Synergy ParentVUE.
Elementary school parents can access the Trimester 1 Parent-Friendly page 3 through the PUSD website (Parent Resources) by clicking HERE.
So excited to see all of you on campus this coming week for Parent-Teacher-Student Conferences. We cannot wait to share with you all the growth and learning that has happened this first trimester. Our students have been hard at work completing writing prompts, showing their mathematical thinking, and completing reading comprehension assessments to share with all of you. We appreciate you taking the time to meet face to face with us to celebrate your children.
Important Upcoming Dates:
- Monday, November 18th - No School for Students for Parent Teacher Conferences
- Tuesday-Thursday 11/19-11/21 Minimum Days for conferences - dismiss @ 11:55
- Friday, November 22: Regular Student Day
- November 25-29: Non student days - Thanksgiving Break
- December 6th: Friday Flag & Awards
- December 11th: SPELL-A-THON
We appreciate everyone making the effort to prioritize coming to school. Last week, we had 206 student absences over the course of five days. Regular attendance is essential for your child's success in school. Each day of learning builds on the last, and when students miss school, they miss out on important lessons, social interactions, and opportunities to develop key skills. Consistent attendance helps children stay engaged with their classmates and ensures they don’t fall behind. It also supports the development of healthy routines and a sense of responsibility. We encourage you to make every effort to have your child at school each day, as every moment spent in the classroom contributes to their overall growth and academic progress. Thank you for your continued support in helping your child succeed!
Thank you again for all of your support and we will see everyone during Parent-Teacher-Student conferences!
Lisa Maguire
