NEWSLETTER | TERM 3| WEEK 2 | 26 JULY 2024
Thumbs Up Thursday with our amazing Year Three students! 😊🌟
Remember to Make Jesus Real in everything you do! 🙏✨
It’s important that we ask, seek, and knock to keep ourselves in right relationship with Life Itself. Life is a gift, totally given to us without cost, every day of it, and every part of it. A daily and chosen “attitude of gratitude” will keep our hands open to expect that life, allow that life, and receive that life at ever-deeper levels of satisfaction—but never to think we deserve it.

Hi Everyone,
What a week! Tuesday’s Interschool Catholic Primary Schools Cross-Country at UWA Sports Park for children in Years Three - Six was a great success! Sixteen schools took part, so it was a big event, and our children thrived. Thanks to Rob Flexman and all our staff for having the children so well prepared and organised, poised to do their best. Congratulations to every child who participated. You all were just fantastic!
Next week sees our school Maths Immersion Day on Monday, planned by our Numeracy Team. This opportunity is very enjoyable and a great opportunity to celebrate maths right across our school. Thursday’s Interschool Cross Country Championships (for all schools) is another big competition in which we again field an enthusiastic and motivated team. And Friday’s St Dominic's Day celebrations, starting with Mass in Church at 9am will be another important and enjoyable celebration to honour the Dominican Religious Tradition upon which our school is founded.
So, plenty on, plenty to embrace and enjoy.
Have a great weekend,
Mark
Uniform Years 1-6
You may be hearing a bit about our Student Leaders leading the charge to ensure uniform is worn well. The competition is fierce! A weekly prize is awarded to the best dressed class. For your information there is a link below to the uniform list and uniform policy document:

The only recent change to the uniform is the black jacket with the school name and motto on it which was introduced last year. It has certainly become very popular. It is reasonably priced, lined, and waterproof so it covers a lot of bases. The decision was made following a P&F meeting where there was an appetite to change from the black sports jumper to the black jacket. While the jumper is still on the list it is no longer a compulsory part of the uniform, but is fine to be worn. Some children are wearing both, which is fine too, however the jacket as a simple and versatile item is certainly gaining in popularity. It can be worn with the regular or sports uniform.

Once upon a time in Year One... ✨📖
Our little storytellers are diving into the world of magical fairytales this term! We can't wait to watch their imaginations soar as they read and write their own enchanted tales. 🧚♀️📚
It’s great to be back! The second Year Five Book Club started on Wednesday and we love seeing Kindy on Thursdays to borrow books. Junior Chess will start next week (check the whiteboard for more details) and BOOK WEEK is on its way!! This year the CBCA has chosen “Reading is Magic” as it’s Book Week theme and the library is already looking pretty magical! Book Week will take place at HR in Week Six with our famous parade on Friday 23rd August.

I hope all Year Five and Six students enjoyed their special well-being day today, run by Armed for Life. They learnt about friendships, teamwork, resilience, screen use and much more! Class 2D had a wonderful start in Feelings and Friends and I am looking forward to working with them over the next ten weeks.
