From the Superintendent

February 20, 2025
Hello, USD 231 Patrons and Employees.
I want to take a moment to acknowledge the challenges that weather-related school closures bring to our families. We understand the strain that adjusting schedules, arranging childcare, and keeping students engaged at home can place on you. Please know that these decisions are never made lightly, and we truly appreciate your patience and understanding as we navigate unpredictable winter weather.
I also want to extend thanks to our custodians, grounds crews, and operations staff who work tirelessly to clear snow and ice, making our sidewalks and parking lots as safe as possible for students and staff. Their hard work, often in freezing conditions and early morning hours, does not go unnoticed, and we are grateful for their dedication.
As always, our educators are committed to ensuring students stay on track in their learning, and if your family needs any additional support, please don’t hesitate to reach out. We are grateful for the the opportunity to work with your children and look forward to sunnier days ahead!
Sincerely,
Brian
