Hello Ranger Families!

It's hard to believe that February is already here! We're excited to celebrate Black History Month and all the incredible contributions throughout history. Please note that there will be no school on Monday, February 17, 2025 in honor of President's Day.

Looking ahead, we are excited to host March into Kindergarten on Monday, February 24, 2025, at ECLC for all preschool students who will be entering Kindergarten for the 2025-2026 school year.

Also, don’t forget that our ECLC Book Fair kicks off the week of February 24th! It’s a wonderful time to discover new books and foster a love of reading.

We would like to thank you all for doing a wonderful job sending in doctor's excuses and making phone calls when students are absent. We appreciate your support. We have noticed recently an increase of the amount of students that are arriving late or being picked up late. Please plan accordingly for traffic or construction delays to ensure your child can arrive at school on time and depart promptly at the end of their school day. Thank you for your support and attention to this matter.

As a reminder, students who are called off for a vacation during the school year WILL NOT be excused. Vacations are not excused absences. If the school is notified in advance of such a trip, reasonable efforts are made to prepare a general list of assignments for the student to do while he/she is absent but parents should not expect the teacher to re teach material that is missed due to the vacation.

Here are a few PTA highlights.

The PTA Malley’s Fundraiser is taking place until March 10th! Delivery will be made in early April. PTA receives 25% profit - it increase to 35% with total sales over $5,000. In order to participate and receive fundraiser information from Malley’s, you have to complete the Google Form below. You will then receive the kick off email, along with your child’s unique shopping link.

There are several ways to add money to a lunch account. Cash or a check can be made out to North Ridgeville City Schools and can be sent in with your child. You can also add money via PaySchools. As a note, PaySchools charges a fee. Click here to be directed to the PaySchools Central login page to replenish your child's account with additional funds via PaySchools Central.

Though winter days are shorter and colder, there are still ways to keep your kids moving and minimize screen time. Here are some ideas:

· Have a dance party.

· Break out your favorite books.

· Set your kids’ toys up into a bowling lane.

Follow these steps to help reduce your family’s screen time:

· Start by tracking your screen time.

· Share goals and set limits.

· Suggest active fun, like playing outside or learning a new hobby.

Students will be rewarded with Andy Paw stickers to reinforce all of the Ranger Strong behaviors we would like to see all around our building. We will be looking for students who are using:

PBIS Parent Newsletter

Students are continuing to fill up their Andy Paw charts. Please check with your students to see if they are earning Andy Paws for having a quiet voice, walking feet and keeping their hands to themselves. This month we are focusing on the character trait HONESTY. We are looking for students who are also displaying this trait as well. Way to go students and thank you to our parent volunteers who helped with the prize cart!

Students will be talking about how they can show HONESTY to themselves and to others during the month of February. Below are a few ideas your family can use to connect while practicing HONESTY!

Connecting for Kids provides resources, support and community to families in Northeast Ohio who have concerns about their child. We serve all families, including those children with and without diagnoses.

Resources are available for a number of concerns including anxiety, attention and academics. Connecting for Kids supports families who have children with mental health concerns, developmental delays and disabilities as well as those facing major life changes such as divorce or kinship care. No concern is too big or too small.

Connecting for Kids will host more than 75 free programs offered this fall at locations across Northeast Ohio.

Ensuring the safety and well-being of all students on school buses is of our top priorities. Please take note of the following guidelines that your child must adhere to while using school transportation. Students who repeatedly do not follow expectations will be subject to a bus referral. Multiple referrals can lead to loss of bus privileges.

Thank you for helping us reinforce these rules with your child. By working together, we can ensure a safe and positive transportation experience for all students!

This event is for current ECLC students and any North Ridgeville residents whose student is entering Kindergarten and will be 5 years old by September 30th. There will be two identical principal presentations as well as family friendly activities to enjoy! Families will have the opportunity to see the building at this time. You are not required to stay at this event the entire time. We hope you are able to join us!

The book fair will run February 24-28th during normal library times. Second Chance shop will be on Friday Morning for AM and Monday March 3rd. in the afternoon for PM.
