GLOW GAZETTE
WEEK OF MAY 13, 2024
MESSAGE FROM THE PRINCIPAL
GLOW Students & Families,
Happy Mother's Day to our GLOW Mom's! Whether you are the biological parent, stepmother, grandmother, guardian, or caregiver of one of our students...today we celebrate all who are committed to "mothering" our students. As the mother of a teenage daughter myself, I know it takes a village, and our students are so fortunate to have strong support systems guiding and cheering them on along the way!
Speaking of "cheering others along the way," thank you for making our Teacher Appreciation Week so special! The notes, kind words, high-fives in the hall, and the delicious lunch - we sure felt the love and are grateful for our fantastic community. We also want to give a special shout-out to local, GLOW-family businesses - Lil's Ice Cream Truck and Flaming Amy's - for the delicious treats for students & staff.
This week begins our celebration of the Class of 2024, soon to be GLOW Graduates! We are looking forward to Decision Day and Senior Awards on Wednesday. We are so proud of our Seniors and can't wait to learn what they have planned after graduation!
While it's hard to believe, we only have 8.5 school days left in this school year! This is an IMPORTANT time of year as our students are completing state required End of Grade and End of Course tests. Additionally, our high school students will be taking exams for their non-state tested courses.
Testing begins on Friday, May 17 (you can see a detailed schedule below), and it is SO IMPORTANT that students are present and ON TIME each day for testing. Students who arrive late will likely have to wait and complete a make-up exam on the last day of school or during the Teacher Workdays after the last day. We don't want that to be the case if it can be avoided. Parents, please help us ensure that students are arrive in time to eat breakfast if they choose, and be in their 1st period class by 8:15 AM each day.
We look forward to a strong finish to the 2023-2024 school year and appreciate your support in making that possible.
Wishing you all a great week ahead,
Kate B. Tayloe
Principal
