Climate & Culture Survey For Parents
Each year, we conduct climate and culture surveys for our students, parents and staff. The information from the surveys helps us create our school improvement plans. We are asking you to take some time to complete the parent climate and culture survey. Below is the link to the survey. Thank you in advance for taking time to complete it.

Sports At Monticello
Track
The first track practice will held on April 8th after school. All students, including 6th grade students, are encouraged to participate. Athletes can pick up the required paperework from the office. It is important that we have a valid physical form on file in the office. If you have any questions, please contact our athletic secretary at 360-575-7041 or by email at crogers@longview.k12.wa.us
Basketball Photos
Our four basketball teams will be finishing up their successful seasons on March 11th. The teams have really improved throughout the course of the year. Check out some of the pictures that were taken at their games.
RESPECT at Monticello
The character trait that we are emphasizing in March is RESPECT. We will be teaching students how to show consideration for others feelings, wishes, and rights. We have noticed again this year, that students have struggled to develop appropriate ways to communicate with their peers and with our staff. We will focus our attention on helping students work through conflict while being respectful of others.
We realize that this trait is one that goes beyond the school setting. We are asking for your help in teaching our students what it means to be respectful. Below are some challenges that we are seeing at school:
- students arguing or ignoring a staff member when they are not meeting school expectations
- students being verbally or sometimes physically aggressive towards peers when conflict occurs
- students disregarding school wide expectations such as cleaning their table after eating or keeping their hands and feet to themselves
Thank you in advance for having these conversations with your children.

Skyward Access To Check Grades
Skyward Family Access is an online tool that gives families the opportunity to participate more fully in their students’ education. It offers up-to-the-minute student information, including attendance, schedules, food service balances and immunizations. It also includes a calendar and message center.
If you have not yet obtained a username, submit an application to a school where you have a student attending. Your username will work for all active students living in your household. Each guardian may have a separate user name and password. Click here for a link to skyward family access.
If you have any questions at all regarding your child's progress or classes, you are encouraged to reach out to your child's teachers.
We believe we make a difference in the lives of our students by providing a safe and supportive environment where ALL students receive a high-quality, comprehensive education that inspires them to become life-long learners and equips them with the skills and knowledge to succeed in high school and beyond.
