Appleton Echo
Autumn Term 1 Week 7
A word from Mr Broom
The penultimate week of this half term has flown by, with some much exciting learning taking place. The highlight has to be the wonderful performance by Year 1/2 with Claire from StageKidz. I'd also like to thank Laura from Pavers, for coming along and talking about her job role. The children were intrigued.
Year 3 and 4 have been learning all about rocks and soils as well as using the glockenspiels in music!
Meanwhile in Year 5/6, the children have been exploring Victorian inventions and some expert coding in their computing learning.
Next week, it's the Halloween Disco. I can't wait!
Have a super weekend everyone.

We are moving sessions to s Sunday morning (due to the light) for this block up to December. Also hoping to start a third older group if there is interest (though aware lots of children may be playing football on a Sunday morning!)
Many thanks,

Harvest Festival
We are looking forward to our school Harvest Festival which will take place on Monday 21st October, at 2pm. The event is taking place in the church and we would love our parent community to come and join us to celebrate.
During the festival we will be giving thanks for the harvest and the food it provides, as part of this we will be collecting food such as tins and packaged goods. The collection will be picked up from school on the day of the festival and be taken to York foodbank. Please have a look at the York Foodbank list of suggested items and bring your donations to school on the morning of the festival.
Thanks
Victoria

We are a 'Nut Free' School
A polite reminder that we have children in school who have severe nut allergies. Please ensure that you do not bring nuts on to the school site or include them in packed lunches.
Thank you for your support with this.
