TUSD Family Resource Centers- December 2024
Family Resource Center services are available to TUSD students and their families, free of charge. Please call the center to register for classes. Childcare is available to TUSD students and siblings for most classes. Please inform staff of the need for childcare when you register. Include the number of children, ages, and any special needs. Interpreter services are available. Please inform staff of the need for an interpreter when you register. Please register at least two weeks in advance if interpreter services are needed.

Events
Jacket Party
Join us for our annual Jacket Party! We will give away gently used jackets, sweaters, and hoodies to help you stay warm this winter. This free event is open to students enrolled in Tucson Unified School District. A variety of sizes and styles will be available while supplies last. If you have any questions, please get in touch with your nearest center. Please have your student’s name, school name, grade, birth date, and student ID number (if known) so we can serve you quickly.

We invite you to an Open House at the Family Resource Centers, where you can learn more about our free services. We will also host our Tell Me More About...event with representatives from across TUSD who will provide information about what happens in the classroom and how you can support your child’s learning at home.

Thanksgiving Holiday Share
It's time for the Family Resource Centers annual Thanksgiving Holiday Share. TUSD families are invited to receive a thanksgiving food box (turkey and side dishes) to prepare a full meal.

Where: Palo Verde High School Main Parking Lot | 1302 S. Avenida Vega
One free food box per TUSD family, while supplies last.

Community Focus Group- Presented by Pima County
In collaboration with Pima County, we will host a focus group on Racial and Ethnic Approaches to Community Health. Participants will receive a gift card for sharing their thoughts and experiences regarding access to healthy food, childcare, child education, and community involvement. Free Health Screenings- Presented by Del Sol Research
Taking charge of your health today can lead to a healthier future. Del Sol Research will be offering free health screenings aimed at identifying potential health issues early on. Healthy for Life- Presented by The University of Arizona/Pima County Cooperative Extension
Join us for our Healthy for Life Series and learn how to add more color to your meals. Our 8-session program is designed to assist families in their efforts to learn how to eat healthier meals on a budget, make improvements in food safety, physical activity, and connect with their community resources to improve food access. Kith & Kin- Presented by Candelen
Candelen offers one of the most extensive support programs for family (kin), friend, and neighbor (kith) childcare, which is one of the country’s most common forms of caregiving. It usually includes relatives, friends, neighbors, and other adults caring for children in their home.
