Happy Labor Day Weekend Eagles!

Thank you to all members of the Clyde Erwin Elementary Magnet School family for working together to make our first quarter go by so smoothly! It is hard to imagine that we are starting week 8. Monday, September 2 is a holiday, and there is no school on that day. That means we only have 9 days of instruction prior to our fall intercession. PLEASE avoid early checkouts and tardies in the next nine days so that students are present for every moment of instruction possible.

Students in grades 3, 4, and 5 will participate in comprehensive math assessments September 9-13. These assessments measure students' mastery of standards and help teachers plan appropriate instruction for the second quarter. Encourage your students to do their best on these assessments.

Student Dress-Down Day Fundraiser

Thank you to all of our students who participated in the dress-down day fundraiser on Friday. We raised $200.00 for our school supply general fund, which is a huge help to our school. This money will be used to purchase needed items for classrooms and interdisciplinary units that are unable to be covered by state or federal funds.

Employment as a Bus Driver

There is currently a bus driver shortage in Onslow County Schools. The pay is $14.14 per hour, and you can apply at www.onslow.k12.nc.us. The next bus driver class is offered September 23, 24, and 25. For additional information, feel free to call 910-455-5037.

Open House and Report Card Pick-Up

Go ahead and mark your calendars for Open House and Report Card Pick-Up on Thursday, October 10, 5:00-6:00pm. Report cards will be available for pick-up, and you are welcome to visit classrooms and have brief meetings with teachers. Teachers are scheduling conferences with all parents during the first quarter.
