Congratulations to Our Instrumentalists and Our Instrumental Teachers
Congratulations to Mr. Fuette, Mr. Binkley, our student performers and our teacher performer volunteers. They did a phenomenal job playing their songs and entertaining us.
Dear Families,
This upcoming week we have the Singing Eagles concert on December 20th, classroom winter parties on December 21st, and a 11:40 AM dismissal on 12/22.
As the holiday season and winter break is upon us, we wanted to take a moment to extend our warmest wishes to you and your loved ones. We hope this time brings you joy, warmth, and moments of togetherness. This past year, your support, involvement, and dedication are truly appreciated, and we look forward to continuing our journey together in the coming year.
We wish you a wonderful holiday season, winter break and a happy New Year!
Donna and Team Glen Acres
Dr. Christopher Came To Visit US
Dr. Christopher is now officially leading our district. It was great to see him about and about in our WCASD schools . When he came to the Glen, we had a great visit with our new superintendent. Dr. Christopher introduced himself to the students and the students asked him many thoughtful questions.
Spreading Kindness
Thank you to Ms. Hodgson's class for spreading kindness by writing holiday cards to those in need.
Would You Like To Help Other Families in Need?
The holiday season is upon us and some of our families and students need your help. If interested, this year we are handling the Giving Tree a little differently; instead of hats and gloves, we are hoping to collect gift cards, in any denomination, to help our families. A few suggested places are Target, Walmart, Wawa, Uber and local grocery stores such as ShopRite, Giant, and Acme. If you are choosing to participate, please send the gift card(s) in with your child to give to his/her teacher.
Your child will get a decoration to color and place on our holiday tree in the lobby.
Thank you for helping our families and students this holiday season. If you have any questions, please contact the Home and School Visitor, Katelyn Gomez, at kgomez@wcasd.net or 484-266-1720. Happy Holidays!
Cards will be accepted now through December 19.

Nominate A Teacher for the Citadel Heart of Learning Award
https://www.citadelbanking.com/nominate
At Citadel Credit Union, we’re committed to serve those who work every day to build a better future for us all. That’s why every year, we honor teachers across the Greater Philadelphia area in Bucks, Chester, Delaware, Montgomery, Lancaster and Philadelphia counties with the Citadel Heart of Learning Award. If you know a teacher who truly cares about their students and puts in the extra effort to enhance their educational experience, please submit a nomination. Prizes will total $60,000 for the best teachers in the region along with a glass heart award for each winner.
The Citadel Heart of Learning Award is one of our longest standing initiatives. We started the program 23 years ago in partnership with the Chester County Intermediate Unit (CCIU), to recognize local teachers who show dedication in and outside of the classroom.
How to Submit a Nomination:
All too often, teachers are unsung heroes. If you know a teacher who goes above and beyond the call of duty, share their story and how they’ve impacted your life or a student’s life. You can submit a written nomination form, email us or a video nomination. To submit a video nomination you can create a post on TikTok, Instagram, or Facebook and tag us @citadelcreditunion on TikTok or @CitadelBanking on Instagram and Facebook with the hashtag #CitadelHeartofLearning. Just make sure your video shows us exactly why your teacher should be nominated.

Attendance Update Information
Our attendance secretary, Mrs. Theresa Weaver, will be your contact for all things related to attendance, dismissal and the pickup patrol app. She can be reached at tweaver2@wcasd.net or 484-266-1712.
Important Change to Absence Notes
Thank you to all of our parents/guardians who have registered for Pick-Up Patrol and already began using it this school year. Pick-Up Patrol (PUP) should be used for all dismissal plans and changes. Absences must be reported by 9:00 A.M., either through PUP OR through the Safe Arrival Line (484-266-1710). When we initially rolled out PUP, our understanding was that it could be used in lieu of submitting an excuse form. We have just learned that is not the case.
Excuse forms, completed with the necessary data such as child’s name, date and reason for absence, are to be turned in by the student within three (3) days, after his/her return from an absence. The absence of any student failing to comply with this time period, will automatically become unexcused and/or unlawful and the school laws of Pennsylvania shall be applied. Excuse notes via email from a registered email address in PowerSchool will be accepted without an original signature. (Per District Attendance Guidelines Code 204AG1). If you are emailing a note, please email your note to our attendance secretary, tweaver2@wcasd.net.
Excuse forms need to be kept on file in accordance with district and state policy.
Safe Arrival phone line at 484-266-1710, is still available to report your child’s absence.
Thank you for your understanding and cooperation with this policy.
* Some families asked if there is a form that they can fill out regarding absences. Since we take emails and handwritten notes, a form is not needed. However, if it is easier for you to have a form, you can use the form in this link.
