Exciting Summer Opportunities for Our Scholars
Exelon STEM Leadership Program
We are proud to announce that two of our scholars, Josselyn Iglesias and Grace Omoregbe, have been accepted into the Exelon STEM Leadership Program this summer. This is a fantastic opportunity for them to learn from women working in STEM and business leaders, visit energy facilities, and explore sustainability, energy efficiency, renewable energy, and climate change. The Exelon Foundation STEM Leadership Academy is a free, week-long in-person event where participants will attend educational sessions, improve leadership and professional skills, and tackle a weeklong group challenge. They will meet business and community leaders and converse with women currently working in STEM, expanding their connections and opening doors to potential scholarships and internship opportunities.
University of Maryland ESTEEM/SER-Quest Summer Program
Additionally, two more of our students, Saloni Patel and Ethan Malcolm, were interviewed for the University of Maryland ESTEEM/SER-Quest Summer Program. We are delighted to share that Saloni Patel has been accepted, and we are awaiting good news for Ethan. The ESTEEM Research Mentoring Program (Engineering Science and Technology to Energize and Expand Young Minds) and the Summer Engineering Research (SER)-Quest is an intensive 4-week research-focused program sponsored by the Center for Minorities in Science and Engineering. This program provides a unique opportunity for students to engage in research and expand their knowledge and skills in engineering.
